I lean down and open the oven. A wave of heat hits my face and chest. With oven mitted hands I grab the tray containing my little cakes and pull it out. Putting it on top of the oven while closing the door with my leg. After carefully removing the cakes and putting them on a plate I turn to my mixing bowl which is full of purple frosting. Using the baking spatula in the bowl I scoop up a nice clump of the purple sugar paste and begin to slather it over the first cake. It makes a satisfying sound. The kind of sound you get when mixing mac n cheese.
After repeating the process with the other 11 cakes I grab the plate and walk into my dining room. There I see Fred the plant. In his usual spot. Freds about 2 feet tall. He has green leaves and an off white greenish stem.
"Hey Fred!"
"Are you gonna eat all those by yourself?" He responds with his typical gritty voice.
"No" I say with a smile as I sit down and take a bite out of one of the cupcakes. They're so good! The warm cake paired with the moist frosting is incredible. You cant get stuff like this in a supermarket that's for certain.
"Good. You're getting fat"
I put the cupcake down and frown "What do you mean? I'm not fat"
"Really? My eyes must be deceiving me... Of which I have none.... Because I'm a plant"
"You're just jealous because you don't have a mouth!"
"Please. My water and sunlight diet has done wonders for my figure. You on the other hand? Pudgy"
