End of shift, a drive home, and a nightly routine to get things done and over with. It was midnight before the dreamer got home. “Gods, why does my shift have to be so long?” Elena had asked towards the sky, why where they doing this to her? She would never know. Today was her turn to proofread the SSHD paper plus the journalism division. The JD as it was affectionately called. Multi-paragraph over the most covered topics in the city. Or it was the scrapes of other reporters gave from uncertain places. It took so long to handle just a fourth of the JD.

After getting to her room, Elena kicked off her black heels that went clack, clack, clack. It was softened as she walked the halls of her apartment. “Ahh…it feels so good to be out of heels.” She smiled gently as she relaxed on the mattress, sinking into it while she listened to the noise of the city.

Vrooom, vroom, honking of cars, the beeping of lights, the sirens of the firetrucks and ambulances, people chatting, everything. There were millions of noises to listen to. It easily put her to sleep.
A world so far away, the world of dreams. It was such a beautiful place. Elena, in her own world slowly sat up. Something was different this time. She didn’t wake up in the river like normal, but in a bed? This was strange. In a world where she has only seen one person in the year that she began lucid dreaming, and yet she was in a house no less. Hearing the voices of the woods. And the sounds of a home, with someone in it. It took a moment for Elena to get up and realize she was wearing a nightgown, and not her usual clothes. Who in the world would change her clothes, when she was unconscious?!

What in the world to do? She didn’t want to see who lived here. There was no certainty that this was a safe situation. None whatsoever! When she heard footsteps coming towards the room, she tried to find a place to hide. The best place was under the bed like some child. It was a narrow fit, but at least she could. That was the only hope she had. How well would her hiding spot will work? This dark space didn’t help her panic. The walls seemed like they were closing in on itself.

Someone soon approached the room and entered it, “Oh mysterious person, where did you go?” It was the dark-haired elf from earlier. To them, a random person passed out in the middle of the day while watching them play their flute. “It was nice to know someone admires my flute playing enough that they passed out.” She looked in the room, frowning a little when she didn’t see Mysterious Person. Well it was a shame they decided to hide from her! Time to look and make sure this person got fed. First she peaked in the closet, moving clothes and shoes around to look. “No one here.”

Elena covered her mouth and nose so she wouldn’t be heard by this person. At least now she knew who it was. That was better than not knowing. Put her at ease. Why was it putting her to ease? She didn’t know. She heard footsteps going to leave the room, and then the door shut. In her haste she quickly got out from under the bed, to only be met by the elf’s gaze.

“It’s not nice to hide y’know.” The elf stated as she leaned against the door.177Please respect copyright.PENANABc78w3DsjM
