Chapter 3
Mark slowly approached the TV set while his gaze remained focused on the small object perched on top of the screen. The remote was beside the TV set and he bent down and picked it up examining the buttons. The others watched curiously as he turned on the TV.
"What am I looking at?" he asked aloud.
“It's the remote, asshole,” Johnny laughed.
Mark rolled his eyes in response and continued flipping through the channels. His hands landed on a channel that was showing a video.
The audio started playing and the image changed to show two men talking into the camera. A young man and a woman appeared on the screen. "Hello Hello. Welcome to our special show! My name is Jonathan Hargrave. Today we will show you live footage from two of the most popular shows in the multiverse: Earth News Network (or Earth News News) and The New York Times. those who are not familiar with the show, we will explain the events that occurred during these shows. For those who are new to our show, please welcome Mr. Johnny Mercury and Mr. Markiplier to discuss the current situation. . Please feel free; we will start soon.”
"Well, looks like I was right about the broadcast being recorded somewhere." Marco commented.
"Hey hey! Don't talk shit about my job! It's my job, thank you very much!"
Mark smiled at that. “So this whole thing is an act. Like a secret mission or something. He concluded as he looked at Johnny and Johnny nodded before refocusing on the screen.
“Alright, now that they've introduced themselves, I'm going to start explaining the show's rules. Basically, you've been chosen by the host himself to come to Earth and get an exclusive interview with both of us. If there is any problem with this, please inform reception. I believe there's a phone call in the lobby. Now for the show!” Jonathan announced.
When the image disappeared, Mark looked back at Johnny. "This isn't real, is it?" he joked.
Johnny laughed. “Oh, it's all right!” The two were silent for a minute before Johnny broke the silence. “Do you think it will really work? Can we do this tour alone? I don't want to bring you any trouble.” He explained seriously.
Marco shook his head. "Do not worry about me." He assured it. “Besides, I doubt it would matter if you brought someone else. The only reason I'm here is because I wanted to meet you. That means you are in trouble.” He added jokingly.
Johnny smiled at that. "If it means having more time with you, then I would gladly take that risk!"
They both laughed at the statement, and for a moment Mark felt the same excitement he used to feel whenever Johnny spoke. Suddenly, Mark realized that things weren't perfect anymore. They were still stuck in the past. No matter how good they felt now, it wouldn't last forever, which is why he needed to end it all. He needed to stop wasting precious moments talking to Johnny. It wasn't worth the pain it would cause the other man. 'We need to talk more.
