It was Christmas eve, in a house in the suburbs, and there in this house lived two young children named Leah and Billy. Their parents were not home; they were out on business a couple of towns away for the night. Leah and Billy up in bed, there was no sound through this house, the only thing that there was, was silence. Leah was half awake as she looked over at her little brother, he was sound asleep, and yet she was finding it hard to fully drift off to sleep herself. Leah sat up and grabbed her book and started to read some, hoping it would help her get tired so she could finally rest. Leah was reading her book for some time as Billy was slightly rolling in his sleep. She decided to set her book down and she sat up as she started to hear some noise from downstairs. Leah sat up and heard a noise again, she looked at her sleeping brother, “Billy.” She said in a soft voice, he didn’t move much so she said his name a little louder this time, “Billy wake up,” She walked over to her brothers bed and softly shook him by the arm, he started to slowly wake up as he looked up at his sister in confusion, “What is it Sis? What time is it?” She shook her head and pressed her finger to her lips, shushing her brother. She looked at the door of the bedroom as there became more noises of shuffling from downstairs. Billy sat up in his bed now curious of this noise, they both knew their parents would not be home till tomorrow or maybe they got home early, they both were sitting there as the shuffling continued and then a slight sound of jingling bells came about. Both Leah and Billy looked at each other after they heard the bells, them both smiling as they spoke at the same time, “It’s him.” They both knew what the other meant, I mean it is Christmas eve after all so who else could it be besides the one and only Saint Nicholas. Leah got up her bunny slippers slowly sliding across the floor with her feet, as Billy slowly got up and followed her, she pressed her finger to her lips once again shushing her brother, he nodded knowing he didn’t want to miss this opportunity so see Santa. Leah opened the bedroom door slowly and Billy followed behind his sister as she started to walk out the bedroom door and tiptoeing down the hallway. They make it to the end of the hallway slowly making their way down the staircase Leah stopped halfway looking through the bars of the side of the staircase being able to see through the living room door from there she sees a shadow and looks at her brother and nods as she makes her way down the rest of the stairs, her brother still following behind. They both are ducked down low as Leah runs and crawls behind the couch and then to behind the armchair, and she signals Billy to come over, he crawls and sits behind the couch. Leah slowly starts to peek her head over the couch as she sees a shadow of someone behind the Christmas tree, and the shadow appears to be reaching out for something, Leah looks over at the small table near the Christmas tree with the milk and cookies they had left out. The shadow starts to become reality and out from the Christmas tree reaches a long flesh covered tentacle as it reaches into the milk seeming as it steams and the milk slowly disappears and the tentacle swoops up the cookies as the plate falls to the floor and rolls down. Leah’s face is filled with fear as she ducks back behind the chair covering her mouth trying not to make much or any sound at all if possible, Billy had been peeking a little too and he looked terrified, pale and white as snow. The creature fully comes from behind the tree as Leah and Billy were about to start to try and leave and go back up stairs or something, all they wanted to do was try and get away from this, this thing. The creature looks over or it appears it's looking over, the fleshy beast has no eyes, and its four big legs, the rest of its body is quiet skinny as it walks on all fours, its neck a bit saggy though and it appears to have two short arms with two hands that cover its own mouth. The creature begins to walk towards the furniture the children are behind as it pushes the furniture aside both of the kids squirm and fall back as they crawl backwards till both their backs hit the wall, the creature slowly appreciating them as it leans down. Both of them now shake as the small hands of the creature move to reveal a mouth full of sharp teeth, having no lips to cover these teeth, with each of the beast breaths they seem steamy and hot. The creature moves closer to Leah and then speaks with a raspy-sounding voice, “Leah.” It leans close to her, drool seeping from its mouth as she presses against the wall. The creature seems to smell her and then backs up a couple inches, “Good.” The beast says as its mouth seems to get wider and its saliva seeps from its mouth as a small box comes out and onto Leah’s lap. The creature moves closer to Billy now and stands in front of him, “Billy,” smelling him as saliva dangles from its sharp toothed mouth, the beast shakes it head and stands for a second, “Good.” The mouth of the beast stays open as his present starts to appear at the back of it’s throat slowly sliding out getting bigger and bigger, finally his gift falls into his lap, covered in the beast mouth juices. The beast stays close to Billy as it reaches its hand and slowly touches him on the head and pets his hair, talking in a grating-tone, “Stay good.” The creature backs up and its small hands cover its mouth as it was before and it fits its way up the fireplace and out the chimney and the fire lights spontaneously. The children still shook up by what had just happened. Billy looked down at the gift in his lap, the present covered in wrapping paper with pictures of the fat jolly Santa that they thought they had once known. Billy slowly reaches and starts to pull the wrapping paper off the box and slowly reveals the box that is an electric toy train set. He looks at his sister then looks at the gift again, “It's exactly what I wanted…” They both were still quite shaken from this all, they eventually slowly got up and returned to their bed where it all had started. It was quiet all through the house once again, both the children in their beds staring up at the ceiling. Leah starts to think and then slowly speaks in a low tone, “Hey Billy… What do you think would have happened if we weren't… good?” 180Please respect copyright.PENANAt7ynw0AHJn
