Star-gazing, washed in the comfort of night,

I rose, spread my arms, and embraced the view

I had absolutely nothing to fight.

Just that tipsy feeling like a canoe.

Do I dare peek o’er the edge of the roof?

Although what I see may bring my demise.

My mind is nowhere close to bulletproof.

Yet the tight hands keep on dancing clockwise.

The clock of the universe, all the stars,

Ticking towards the end of everything.

I can fly away to safety on Mars,

And watch the simple end of the living.
