-Mr. Riu's office-
Mr. Riu sat in his chair behind his desk as I sat at the front of his desk.
"Now Takashi, can you explain to me why I came back to my classroom to see you hitting Hiro."
My heart was racing.
This is the first day of school I can't get into trouble. What if I get expelled?
"Mr. Riu! I didn't start it I swear!"
I hadn't even noticed I was yelling. Mr. Riu stood from his chair, walked around his desk, sat in the chair next to me, and set his hand on my shoulder.
"Hey Takashi, take a deep breath, you're shaking."
I looked down. He was right, my whole body was trembling. I took a deep breath and looked back at him.
"Now tell me everything that happened."
I told Mr. Riu everything, I kept venting and venting, back to when me and Hiro were five. He sat there and listened to everything I said, nodding his head and just taking it all in. At some point, I started to cry. I finished telling him everything.
"I see, so you finally decided to stand up for yourself."
I said nothing as I took a tissue from the box off of his desk. I looked at him and slightly nodded 'yes' to answer his question.
"Well, I am proud you stuck up for yourself but violence is not the way."
I looked down and nodded.
"I wasn't even thinking when it happened... I'm sorry."
"I understand Takashi."
He let out a sigh seeming to not know what to say next. He got up and grabbed a piece of paper
"You are going to be having a lunch detention just take this as a warning okay."
I slightly smiled and nodded as he handed me the paper and dismissed me to leave his office. I looked at the paper and the lunch detention was scheduled for tomorrow.
-Through the middle school years-
The rest of the year me and Hiro were going back and forth in arguments but I never got physical with him again. Hiro did as he did in elementary and spread rumors, some people still talked to me because they didn't like Hiro because of the way he flashed how his dad was rich all the time. The year went by so slowly that it felt like it took forever. So I guess I completed my goals for the year, the friend I made her name is Yua. She would yell at Hiro a lot, and then they would just yell back and forth it was kind of funny sometimes, it would even cheer me up. Eventually, the year was over though.
-Summer break-
Finally, school was out, and already started making summer plans with Yua, we had planned to do karaoke and go to the Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival. That's exactly what we ended up doing, my whole summer was mostly spent with Yua. I hardly ever saw Hiro at all through summer. Not that I wanted to see him anyway, I didn't want to run into him and get into a mess of an argument over summer break. Hanging out with Yua was fun, just being able to stay home and watch movies with her was nice. However my parents started to tease me about how much time I was spending with her, saying how close we were getting that we both would be in high school next year, and that it's 'natural' for girls and boys to date around our ages, but I don't know if I see her that way. Soon enough though our summer break was coming to an end. 110Please respect copyright.PENANA4i8MYTPCPb
