A week passed since that night and Luke has been avoiding me, when we encounter he looks at me with sullen eyes and keeps going ahead , which make me feel even worse than I already was I never expected him to have such an effect on me.
Aria says I have feelings for him but when it comes to these stuff I'm not so good , my last boyfriend was fed up with me after a year and I guess I'm not gonna do the same mistake twice.
“ So you haven't told anybody that it's your birthday today?” Aria said while placing the bowl of popcorn on the table in front of the TV.
Today is Friday and it's my birthday , Aria found out cause she looked at my ID but I asked her not to tell anyone as today its not a happy anniversary. My dad went missing this very day a year ago.
“ Yeah better like this, mum is out with Aunty Alissa so she's good and I have to take care of these little brats.” I ruffled Andy's hair which was sleeping on my lap,
“ Well I told Jack I was coming here but didn't mention your birthday.”
“ Aria it's ok , you should go out with Jack now that you both finally opened which only took a week.” I smiled sarcastically at her , she blushed.
“ Yeah , well we knew each other for sometime before you came ….. well any way it's my best bitch's birthday and our first sleepover like hell am I gonna miss it.” she winked at me and bounced on the sofa , I shook my head and smiled , she's one amazing girl.
“ So what are we gonna watch?” I said while putting a pillow under Andy's head,
“ Magic Mike.” she looked at me with satisfaction ,
“ Sure but put it low don't wanna scandalize the little one.” she laughed and put the dvd on.
"Wow that was some hot drooling bodies , I'm satisfied.” Aria said after the movie just ended , I couldn't disagree talk about Channing Tatum.
“ I have to put the brats at bed wait for me here.” I slowly lifted Andy and went upstairs , I lowered him slowly on the bed and cover him with his Cars themed bed sheet. I went to check on Sam which was asleep in mums room, she was sleeping peacefully so I took the walkie talkie and took it downstairs with me.
“ Sorry about th....” my eyes went wide when I saw everybody downstairs , Jack , Jace and Josh all beamed up at me and then I looked behind them , there he was …. he came … Luke.
“ Sorry Sky I just couldn't let you have a sorrowful birthday.” Aria said as she came hugging me. Everybody hugged me afterwards , Luke's hug was warm but somehow awkward.
“ Here's your present.” Jace picked me up and spinned me around and gave me a small packet.
“ Guys you shouldn't have.”
“ Yeah yeah but we did so open it.” Jack said winking at me. I slowly opened the package , it was a beautiful necklace with my name on it and had roses on each end.
“ Guys.... it's beautiful, thank you so much.” They all gave me a big bear hug. They all sat on the sofa while I grabbed them some drinks.
I heard some footsteps behind me.
“ Sorry.” I didn't have to turn around to see who that was.
“For what ? Ignoring me?.” I heard him sigh and his footsteps were now behind me, he hugged me from behind and when he let go I felt a cold but soft, probably metal feeling on my hand.
“ Luke , what's ...”
“ Just accept it as a happy birthday and sorry gift.” I could feel his warm breath on my neck , I looked down on the bracelet , it was a charm bracelet, which had been left blank for me to fill. I turned to look at him now.. I didn't know he was so close, my face was just an inch away from his , I could feel the warmth coming out of his body.
“ Here.” he said and handed me a small box , I looked up at him and blinked , he just smiled. I opening the box revealing a rose charm,
“ I know today must be hard but I thought you might like it.” I was about to cry.
“ I love it.” I hugged him tightly, in just a week I missed him so much.
“ Sky.” I let go of Luke ,
“ Jimmy what are you doing here …. wait is something wrong ?” he looked so sad and hurt.
“ Here.” he handed me a box wrapped in brown paper and an address on it.
“ What's this?” I asked Jimmy , the others came after him and everyone was expecting me to open the box.
“ You should recognized who's handwriting is right?” I looked carefully , no , it couldn't be,
“ Dad.” everyone eyes went wide. My hands were trembling while I removed the wrapping , Luke came near me and held my hand in his .
“ Calm down.” I looked at him and then he whispered ,
“ I'm here.” I nodded and opened the package , It was a book, I think.
“ There's a letter.” Luke said as he handed me a brown envelope , I smelled the envelope , everybody kept staring at me ,
“ I'm sure it's him,” I smiled softly
“ Every letter he would write always smelled like his after shave.” I was about to cry but I kept it in and opened the letter slowly ,
“ Want me to read it out loud?” I asked
“ Only if your okay with it.” Jack said , I never seen him look so sorrowful , I nodded and began reading,
“ My little butter cup , well I'm not sure your little anymore , if your reading this it means something happened to me and for that I am so sorry hunny. I never wanted anything like this to happen , your mother she must be broken and Andy and Sam , I left everything to you. You should be thinking why did I write this beforehand but I knew something was coming , I should be fine , probably but please promise me you'll take care of everything for me until I return? You always been a lady worth fighting for , I always kicked the boys who run after you and I should be ashamed but I couldn't see my little princess with some scumbag that ran after a lady , well I did the same thing for your mother , she was so beautiful everybody wanted her and I always kept afar but one day she noticed me and from that day onwards ,well your here right? I think I'll have a problem with Sam too and I should have the talk with Andy soon , well he's still young so. Well dear I should stop all this chit chatting , here is my journal , open it when you have found the key to the locket , please remember our locket. You should open it only when you are ready. I have to go now , please don't forget dear. Happy birthday , I love you dear forever an always angel. ANC.” my eyes became foggy and they became to water and drops fell on the paper, I hugged the paper tightly to my chest and fell on the floor. Luke immediately put me in his arms and covered my face in his chest,
“ It's okay, cry all you want.” everybody surrounded me but kept quite as I cried in Luke's arms.
I must have passed out , tired of crying but I still remembered strong arms holding me. I tried to open my eyes but they didn't have the strength to open but when I heard a soft peck on my forehead , I slowly opened my eyes to see Luke's worried eyes looking at me , he sighed out of relief.
“ God girl you got me worried.” I looked around , its my room and when I looked back at Luke he said
“ You passed out and Jimmy led me to your room , the others left you to rest and I stayed here, Aria is downstairs looking out for the kids.”
“ The journal?” I asked him, he nodded and showed me dads journal. I woke up slowly , my head felt heavy but I had to check something, Luke helped me up without asking anything. I opened my wardrobe and tried to reach for something on the top shelf, I touched something soft and reached for it.
“ What's that?” he asked when I showed him a velvet covered book ,
“ My diary.” he looked at me and raised his eyebrow and smirked.
“ Your gonna tell me all your dark little dirty secrets?” I punched him in the stomach and he made a scene , obviously he was just joking around.
I opened the book.
“ Hey what's that ?” when I opened the book it showed a hole in the book , the pages where all glued to each other and a key was inside the hole.
“ Hand me the journal.” he silently gave the the journal and we both sat on the bed , I inserted the key in the key hole and turned clockwise and then anticlockwise, the seal of the book flipped open,
“ Are we in some Indiana Jones movie and I wasn't informed of it?” Luke snorted out and I rolled my eyes.
“ Idiot.” he gave me a small nudge and I laughed.
“ But your father said that you should open when your ready right ? And do you know what's inside it ? I feel like I'm in a movie.” I looked at him giving him the – your thinking to much about it and wait …. your still an idiot- look.
“ You know your looks all give too much info.” he said and lowered his face , which made a chock of his hair fall on the side of his face and that made him look so sexy , I shock my head it wasn't the right time for this. I opened the book , and something fell from the first page , Luke picked it up and his eyes widened.
“ Is this your father?” he said , sounding worried.
“ Yeah why ?.... Luke whats going on?” He looked at the picture for sometime like looking for an answer and then he looked at me.
“ I think I saw him.” I looked at him in disbelief
“ What do you mean you saw him and where?” I said now panicking.
“ Calm down I don't know , a few weeks ago before I bumped into you , I work at a restaurant which belongs to my family and one day a group of men came in all wearing black and they looked a bit off to be honest but didn't give much thought and then a man came in he looked panicked and headed to their table, when I went to take the order I accidentally heard something weird, one of the man said : “ Your doing the right thing , that daughter of yours is worth a price.” and the mans face looked white as paper but I didn't think about it but now that I see a picture everything came back , I'm so sorry I didn't know before.” he looked pained and I was left speechless , my dad is doing this because of me , what is going on Dad?
“ Hey hey calm down Sky talk to me.” Luke shock me and when I saw my face in the mirror all color drained out and I was shacking,
“ L-luke what if something happened to him ? What am I going to do?” Luke cupped my face with his hands and and he lowered his lips and they touched mine. A surge ran through my body like an electric wave , nobody has ever kissed me with so much passion, when he let go we kept staring at each other and then he said
“Wow.” he blinked at me and I nodded. He kissed me again more roughly this time , like he wanted more, he licked my lips asking me to let his tongue in , I let him of course and when our tongues intertwined with each other he grabbed my back and crushed me towards him till there wasn't any room between us. I put my fingers into his hair , he kept moving his hands up and down my back. When we finally stopped we were both breathless and he kept looking at each other again ,
“ I waited almost two months for this.” he said breathless I smiled at him
“ You shouldn't feel too full of yourself , two months aren't that much.” he chuckled and kissed me again more softly this time.
“ Stay here with me for a while , please?” I asked him and he nodded he held me tight for all the night.
