Just to be clear i didn't do it but a close friend of mine did. He fell in love with a girl from a very conservative religious family. They knew that her family is never going to accept him so they planned to run away and did a court marriage.
After doing it they went to the guy's house and told what they did to my friend's brother. His brother somehow convinced my friend to drop off the girl to her home and come clean Infront of them.
My friend dropped her at her parent's house. He told them the whole story. The girl's family listened to my friend calmly and asked my friend to leave the girl there. They said he can come back tomorrow to pick her up.

Just as he left their house. He heard a gunshot. They shot the girl his wife. My friend ran from there. He received a text from the girl's family which said "If we ever see you again we will kill you" since then my friend has moved abroad and never visited again.
