I want to start this off by saying this prompt is by far my favorite ( I am relatively new to Penana, too be fair) but I still stand by my statement lol.
Regardless I started writing this and I felt the need to make this an actual project for myself, so because of that this prolog isnt very "survival."
so don't be too disappointed. And if you're not and want to continue reading I'll be continue it XP
so without further ado here's a prolog to a story
Ps. Thankyou for the amazing prompt!

"Huff... huff.."
I grasp at my chest, clutching the grip of a surgical blade that I have stolen. My legs move almost instinctively.
A burning sensation of cold wind blurs my vision and causes the open gash on my earlobe to throb in pain. The dark dense forest envelopes my surroundings and the shadowed greenery, looks almost like an oil painting through the tears welling up in my eyes. My lungs wince with every exaggerated breath, and my heart beats out of my chest.
"Huff.. I won't go back..."
The memories of the "tests" come flooding in my brain like wildfire.

I remember the loud whirring of machines as they loomed over my head, wires sticking to my body with extensive adhesive and wraps of white cloth strapping me to a gurney. The erie, unnatural, perfect white walls surrounding all sides of me.
A man by the name of Dr. R, his name only known by a security badge that hung from his chest a-top his surgical apron.
As he hovered over me with an all to familiar needle, flicking it to entice the horror in my eyes, he sparks a grim smile quite noticeable through his pinched blue eyes above his facial mask.135Please respect copyright.PENANAmZwKUnmErV
I layed unable to move. The gag around my mouth soaked with my spit, smothering my screams for help.

"ESCAPED TEST SUBJECTS 005, 009, 013, AND 020!"
"I REPEAT!"
"ESCAPED Test....."
The emergency brodcast echos amongst the night, breaking me out of my daze. I look back to the large facility. I've been conditioned to endure for so long, the red flashing lights dancing throughout the forest.
That small sense of victory washes over me, but it's quickly halted to a stop as i looked down at my bare feet, they ache.
The dirt that has burrowed into the open wounds made as I sprinted throughout the uneven earth, and my only sense of clothing that was a once a white hospital gown, now covered in dirt and blood. My fatigue only rises as my adrenaline dies down.
"Huff.. I need to... continue. They'll... find me... soon,"
The further and further I run, the lights from the facility have now completely faded, along with the sound of blaring sirens.
I place my hand on a large tree, the base of it being far thicker than my now leaning body pressed into the cold bark. I steady my breath, my chest now feeling like it's encased in heavy metal. My feet cut, blistered, and swollen. my ear sensitive to even the small breeze, I drop the scalpel id been clutching ever so tightly beside myself and tap my earlobe.
"Ow! At least this bleeding has stopped, I don't think I can make it any further out, I need to find a place to rest, but where?"
I lift my head, now looking upwards towards the sky. The twinkling of stars and light clouds showing themselves in fractures throughout the parts of the canopy that give way of the lush forest.
Just then, an idea. At least for tonight, that is.
"I'll rest in the trees."
