It was a Monday evening and the church gathering hall was filled with church goers, eager to hear the talk that they had each and every Lent season during, what they called, "Soup and Speaker". The priest, that served that same church, was talking about the beliefs of Catholics and how they differ from the other Christian religions and other non-Christian religions.
It happened very suddenly. I was sitting next to the lady and she suddenly fell to the floor from her chair. I didn't know what to do, even though I felt that I needed to do something. Thankfully, I wasn't the only one that felt they had to do something. The older woman was friends with another man in the church and this seemed to be a frequent occurrence with her. Because this had happened before, it was taken care of easily and quickly. I was relieved when the woman's seizure stopped, knowing that she would be okay. I ended up helping by getting her plenty of water. She thanked me and assured me that she was just fine, as if she could read that I was worried. I was glad that she was okay; but I can still conclude that it was a very weird situation for me.
I understand that many people around the world have seizures for various reasons. However, because I had never witnessed a seizure or known anybody that was prone to having seizures; it was peculiar. At first, I was dumbfounded by what was happening. I thought of it as strange and something that never happened. But, of course, I realize that is not the case.
