Priests are being arrested because they theologically are unable to marry two people of the same sex. Churches being closed, too.
What happened to freedom of religion, America? C'mon.
Freedom of speech, religion, etc. No racial repression. No religious repression. No repression. Period. That's the ideal image of America. The land of the free, home of the brave. 'Merica.
But nope. With a change of the rules, the rice has to come in while the corn goes out. Rice and corn are awesome foods. Why are you doing this, mates?
I'm Catholic. Not afraid to admit. If I were a priest (several of my old friends are trying to attain priesthood, good sports), I wouldn't marry two people of the same sex. Just my religion, and I got freedom of religion. Of course, if it were like Nazi Germany, and fear is in the air, I would denounce my priesthood. You know, because I'm a coward.
I got nothing against anyone. I love my neighbors. I love everyone, 'cept for Hitler n' Stalin and all, but I do love the history behind them. If that counts... then yeah, I love everyone. Everyone's awesome. Because, guess what, we're human beings. Freaking awesome.
If a priest refuses to marry two people, or wear certain clothes, or say certain words, then that is his right. Same with other religious figures.
I won't wear jeans. I don't like jeans. I just don't like the texture or how the pockets are all small and everything. I refuse to wear jeans. Refuse. No need to arrest me for that.
Catholicism teaches to love your neighbors and love God. It also teaches to keep the body pure (virgin 'til marriage, no tattoos) and to keep the mind pure (no swearing, no looking at pornography), etc., etc. Sure, sometimes that's damn hard to resist the temptation, but God, I feel good about myself, proud, that I kept two and a half of those right. Swearing, I say 'damn'. Pornography... I was twelve. I was stupid. And I regret. Anyways, Catholicism also teaches to marry only man and woman, how it naturally happened when man and woman first happened.
To force someone to marry two people even though they may be against it, that is slavery. Are we really going back to those days, America? You know what slavery caused? Racism. You know what this will cause? Trouble with religion. Atheists and Christians are already clashing, Muslims and Christians, Atheists and Jews, Satanists and Christians, we're ALL fighting right now! No need for more fighting!
I wouldn't hurt someone. I'm too fearful of Hell and too faithful in Heaven to do that. Not marrying two people doesn't do harm, because they can become spiritually married, bonded together, though may not be legally. Like the old saying goes: it's the thought that counts.
So yeah, arresting priests is against the Constitution (American Bill of Rights had the amendment for freedom of religion, since Mormons and Jews and all were being persecuted in places). Simply. Against. The. Law.
It saddens me where this country is headed. We're accomplishing things, but we're being oppressive people at the same time. When we stop 'oppressing' people, we start oppressing other people. And I quote 'oppressing' because we, as a country, have never been straight-on against homosexuality. We only haven't supported it.
There's a large difference between "no comment" and "being against". I have no comment towards Apple earphones. I am against bullying. I have no comment towards Cartoon Network. I am against loud noises that wake me up in the middle of the night. See where this is headed?
I implore great leaders to stop oppressing all people and stop going against the Constitution of the United States of America. I implore great leaders to start aiding those in need and converting those of evil deeds (e.g. murder, rape, illegal narcotics, convincing suicide) to people of good or neutral deeds, and if they harm police officers, citizens, guests of the country, or their fellow illegal deed-doers, to rid the country of them. That is all.
