A rock? What's so good about a rock?
Those are very normal and very valid questions. Questions I've asked myself as well. After some ruminating, I've come up with exactly 3 reasons.195Please respect copyright.PENANAaGPqy2k7By
First, I'd never be left out again. A rock sees all, hears all; I'd be able to watch the world pass by from the best perspective. I'd never miss out on any of the big news if I was watching it firsthand, I'd never get the twisted version of stories through people I can barely trust. No one would be able to lie to me ever again.
Next, I wouldn't have to deal with people. I don't want to sound obnoxious but humans are the most perverted creatures to walk this Earth. We like to pride ourselves on so-called virtues while we kill each other without a second glance. We tell ourselves that we're superior to animals but tear each other down like lions seeking out their next meal. Plus, I've met a lot of messed up people.
Finally, I could be anything I wanted to be. I could be a grain of sand one day and a mountain the next. I could be magma beneath a volcano or a granite countertop in someone's kitchen. No matter what, I would always become something new: If the volcano evicts me, I would become a pretty, black rock and given a few years underground I'd have formed yet another rock. It would be a neverending cycle of recreation, one that I would never get bored of. For me, that's more than enough.
