With a man who has eyes as blue as the sky

And hair as red as a bonfire

Who can brush away your tears with the gentlest strokes of his fingers

Who can see you at your most vulnerable and still only see you with wonder

You fall in love

With a man who knows the depths of your heart who knows the sorrow and the pain and the hope that you hold

He calls you soft

Calls you beautiful

Calls you intangible

Calls you inexpressible

Calls you indomitable

And he calls you perfect

And you love him

You love the way he understands

You love the way he sees

You love his quiet kindness and you love his sad, soft eyes

You love his tired, aching arms

And he loves yours

And his warm beating chest

You love how clever and selfless he is

How his anger even has a tender edge

You love the way his eyes are expressive

You love the way his grief is aggressive

You love the way he held onto his grief

Held on to your grief

To the whole wide world's grief

And he wrought it into the sharpest of weapons

Full of twisted barbed wire and cutting and stinging

You love the way he set it aside

To wield against the people in their marble palaces

One day you will confront the devil
