“Skylar,” Richard put a hand on Skylar’s shoulder as she began to shake, “Are you going to be alright?”
But then the shaking stopped. She put her hands under her hood as she appeared to be wiping her eyes, then took a deep breath and stood straight up. It was like she all of a sudden just...stopped.
“Let’s go,” Skylar coldly said, then rushed over to the nearest merchant.
Richard glanced over at Helen, who offered a small smile up to him. He had his suspicions that Skylar wasn’t feeling the best, especially with the worry about Luke. Plus, Helen asking about it probably made it worse for Skylar.
Richard shrugged, then hurried to follow Skylar.

“You’re telling me that you have no crystantheum?” Skylar practically yelled at the merchant, who stared up at her with wide eyes.
“Look, lady,” the merchant sighed, “I don’t know what part of none you don’t understand. I don’t have any right now. You’ll have to go down by the shore and find it yourself.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Skylar muttered under her breath, then turned to start walking down to the beach.
“Get the other supplies for Luke,” she yelled over her shoulder.
“Bu-but what supplies?” Richard shouted back to her, unsure of what to buy.
“Medical supplies or other things to help Luke!”
“Right,” Richard turned to the merchant, having no idea what to buy. “Uh…what medical supplies do you have?”
He stared intently at Richard, his eyes roaming from Richard’s right eye over to the left side of his face. Richard immediately felt uncomfortable, as the merchant stared at the bandages covering Richard’s face.
“What happened to you?”
“I uh…got in an accident,” Richard stared at the ground, not daring to look this man in the eye.
“Really? What kind of accident?”
Richard continued to stare at the ground, his hands clenched in fists. Why did he have to be this way? Why did he have to be scarred from an incident he could’ve prevented? If only he had told Luke and the others to wait a little bit before trying to head to Dueglestein.
Helen’s hand wrapped around Richard’s arm, and his fist unclenched as Helen gently squeezed his open palm, showing that she knew what was happening and she cared.
Richard glanced over at her, who was staring at the merchant with a fury Richard had never seen before in her.
“What’s the matter, scar-face?” the merchant taunted, “Too scared to tell me what happened that your girlfriend has to stand up for you?”
“You-you’re not very nice!” Helen struggled to say, staring at the merchant as her eyes glowed with rage. “You shouldn’t be asking him about this, prying into something he’s uncomfortable about!”
“Helen,” Richard murmured, afraid of what she might do if the merchant continued.
“No!” Helen turned her glare on Richard, dropping his hand. “He shouldn’t be making fun of you like that!”
“Helen, it’s not a big deal.”
“Yes, it is,” Helen’s eyes sparkled a little, and now Richard was really worried. “He should apologize for trying to get you to talk about it. It's-it's not something you should be ashamed about, and he's just...just...”
“Helen,” Richard gripped her hand, and Helen stopped yelling. “Let’s just get the supplies.”
She sighed, and stayed completely silent while they bought the supplies...266Please respect copyright.PENANAVzZctF3GXg
