December 1st, 1855, Evening
Adolpha and her father sit in silence, across from each other at the table, eating their food slowly as they stare at each other. After a few moments, Adolpha swallows a piece of her bread and then begins to speak.
"Father, is it common to see... abnormal things in our family? Like how my mother was able to see them?"
Her father shakes his head as he sighs, "Your mother is a foolish and insane woman. The things she saw were just... simple delusions!"
Adolpha looks at her father, thinking about the cloaked man and how he spoke, it felt so real. It must have happened! But how would she be able to tell her father? The one who would not allow mentions of superstitions or the sayings of god in his household?
"But father, aren't these 'delusions' the way mother died...?" She asks.
Her father drops his fork as he winces at the mention of Adolpha's mother's death, "You are excused..." He grits his teeth.
"But-" Adolpha tries to speak.
"Excused!" He bellows, his eyes narrowed and angry.
Adolpha jumps back, but stays silent as she gets up from her table and exits the scene, going up the stairs into her bedroom.
An hour passes by, everyone is asleep and Adolpha lies in her bed, tossing and turning restlessly. She is having a terrible dream, a nightmare perhaps?
In the dream, she is standing in front of Abraxas and he is laughing for a few moments.
"Miss Edwards, it is nice to see you again!" Abraxas cackles, "What is with those tired sad eyes?!"
Adolpha narrows her eyes, "I am not-" she sighs.
Abraxas smiles, "Oh∼ did I hit... a soft spot?" He smirks at her with a wild expression in his eyes.
Adolpha starts to become quite defensive at his words, "No!"
"Is it because what your father said to you, dear Adolpha?!" Abraxas cackles at his comment as he sees Adolpha's face drop slightly.
"Oh∼ so it seems to be true∼?" Abraxas gives her a toothy grin. He loves seeing her suffer like this.
"Ah, such a sight!" He thinks to himself.
Adolpha recomposes herself, "How about you hush?! It is not any of your business anyways!" She raises her hand, about to give Abraxas a hard cold slap.
Abraxas grabs her wrist, pulling her close to him as he puts a knife against her throat, "I don't think you should do that Miss Edwards, or do you want to die?"
Adolpha's eyes widen as she panics a bit, grabbing her pocket knife from her pocket with her free hand.
She puts her pocket knife against Abraxas' throat, "You sure about that sir?"
Abraxas laughs as he takes off his hood, revealing his face. He had pale skin, his eyes the colour of rubies, and his hair colour was of that of a raven.
He grabs Adolpha's chin with his other hand, "Oh, I am very sure∼"
He leans his face closer into Adolpha's, smiling as he does so. Adolpha's eyes widen in surprise and she pushes him away, dropping her knife in the process onto the ground. She backs away, her lip trembling a little bit.
Abraxas laughs, "It is easy to tease you!" He cackles, "You thought I was going to do something, didn't you?!"
Adolpha growls, "I did not!"
"Aw, you are such a wagtail!" He laughs at her comment.
Adolpha's eyes widen angrily, "Do not call me that! I would never be such a thing!"
"Are you sure though∼?" Abraxas lets smirk crawl up onto his face, "Come on pretty princess, relax."
"How dare you try to tell me to relax?!" Adolpha screams, her eyes lowered and her voice trembling with rage. "I will kill you! I swear- I will, will..." She stammers, stomping over to him with swinging fists.
Abraxas laughs, his eyes glowing red. Suddenly, as Adolpha tries to move closer to him, the ground starts to shake. She sees the ground becoming slowly and increasingly smaller. She starts to realize she is floating in the air.
"Put me down!" She screams, tumbling and flying as she floats.
Abraxas cackles, "How about... no?!"
Adolpha continues to tumble and fly in the air, her skirt going up and she screams in embarassment, pushing her skirt back down.
"Stop it!" She cries, "I beg of thee!"
"Fine..." Abraxas flicks his hand and his eyes stop glowing.
Out of nowhere... there was a loud THUMP!
Adolpha, wakes up on the ground, her bed messed up and her room looking like a complete disaster. This wasn't the same like it was before she went to bed, before she went to bed it was clean and neat but now... her room looked like a tornado went through it! She looks around, noticing her knife on the ground. She looks at the grandfather clock, it was only Midnight. But she could've sworn... in her dream.. it was bright, daylight, like a sunny afternoon...
She gets up shakily, picking up her pocket knife and examined it, making sure there was no damage done to it. Nothing bad had happened to it... but she notices an engraving of a name... Abraxas...
