Clover with four leaves. Four meanings that actually only three and one conclusion.
Hope...
Trust...
Attention...
If all are fulfilled, then it refers to the fourth part.
Luck.
That's why it is sometimes called a four-leaf clover. Three symbols with one conclusion.
Usually found in the story of a close-knit friendship of four. They support each other. They are always together. The four consist of four individuals.
One plan is made and executed by all four of them.
But whatever the symbol, immortality is not possessed by anything in this world.
That's what I realized from Mlle. Voyles, M. Marsh, and the two deaths, M. Gill and Mlle. Howell.
"Eira, what does that mean?" M. Marsh seemed somewhat skeptical.
While Mlle. Voyles furrowed her brow, her right hand covering her mouth, and her hand trembling slightly.
"Yes, Billy!"
Mlle. Voyles' expression afterward was like lightning striking. She stated as clearly and as honestly as possible that the incident occurred when three people, herself with the couple M. Gill and Mlle Howell, were on the dodgems ride. At that time, it was quiet enough for them to play repeatedly. So quiet that the ride seemed destined as if it were a gladiator arena for the three of them.
M. Gill only joined in one game, while Mlle. Voyles and Mlle. Howell went up to the third game. One round of dodgems for 10 minutes.
What happened was, in the second game, M. Gill brought three lemon sodas, one for himself. Then both Mlle. Howell and Mlle. Voyles drank a little.
After that, it was exactly as I had imagined. Mlle. Voyles felt poisoned and confused by the situation. That's all Mlle. Voyles said.
"Whether it's Nick or Alwen, I-I don't know who planned this. What's c-clear is... God gave me the awareness to abandon my evil plan on Alwen, really!"
"A-are you really poisoned, Eira!?"
Mlle. Voyles nodded slightly. Her eyes pleaded and sparkled as she looked at M. Marsh.
“D-didn't you bring the antidote!?” still asked M. Marsh, whose tone became increasingly worried.
"Non, monsieur. It's because Mlle. Voyles didn't bring a syringe and an infusion," I replied to calm their worries and confusion. "Fomepizole is not a antidote to be swallowed."
Through the kind-hearted and knowledgeable Mlle. Rachel Flemming, even though i had to make an effort to call five times.
Fomepizole is not just any ordinary antidote. At first glance, when I looked at it, my mind should have realized when Mlle. Voyles said 'drinking' that it should be a lie. But Feline's statement made it clear. Feline was right about the small bottle being similar to the insulin bottle used as a tool to kill someone in a previous case. Although this one is slightly different.
It turned out to be more complicated in its application than insulin, which only needed to be injected into the skin membrane around the waist. Insulin is even easy to instrument without the help of others.
Unlike Fomepizole, which enters through the infusion fluid usually inserted with other drugs. According to Mlle. Flemming, the reason is already stated on the Fomepizole remedy bottle:
'Must be diluted prior to used.'
When I asked her, seemingly a casual question like 'Why not?' Mlle. Flemming just chattered, 'Do you get the best way to hurt the Vein, I think?'
In other words, it can make the hands swell and is highly not recommended.
Some other preparations are that Fomepizole should not be injected with polycarbonate syringes or even those with polycarbonate filters. This is because Fomepizole can interact with polycarbonate, which can be harmful.
And maybe...
Not because Mlle. Voyles was afraid or couldn't talk during the interrogation earlier. Or even as if she was protecting someone and hiding another motive, although that might be the case. But what is clear, since knowing that fact, Mlle. Voyles returned with her unhealthy condition.
As if flashing back to the moment when she vomited and ended up in the clinic. If referring to my correct statement, it means that Ethylene Glycol is still present in Mlle. Voyles' body.
Mlle. Voyles' breath seemed irregular even though she didn't involve herself in a 2 km run, and the room was air-conditioned. The color of her face looked very tired, while her lips turned pale.
Then collapsed, agilely grabbing onto Constable Hodge.
Constable Hodge immediately took Mlle. Voyles to the hospital for treatment of Ethylene Glycol poisoning. Because of that, Inspector Sharp had no other choice but the safety of others. Although still tied to this case.
M. Marsh felt worried, making him really want to visit. Initially not allowed, but when I provided a comprehensive statement, regarding M. Marsh's non-involvement, or in other words, being safe from suspect status.
Actually, Inspector Sharp was somewhat reluctant, but because I insisted and showed the hidden ace in my pocket, everything went smoothly.
So, leaving the three of us, between me, Feline, and Inspector Sharp.
"Heh, I didn't expect this—well, whatever. Scotland Yard people are always complicated. But, I still have the right to get information about this case."
Certainly, there was nothing I could do but agree. Requests didn't come by themselves; they had to be accompanied by an agreement.
"Oh sûrement, s'il vous plaît! (Oh, sure, please!) This case has actually been resolved."
"Are you joking?" Feline and Inspector Sharp in unison. A bit awkward when they both looked at each other and raised their eyebrows in surprise.
"Oh, you're not joking?" Inspector Sharp still asked in disbelief.
"Do you want me to joke?"
"Ah, it's okay. Eh-ehm!” Inspector Sharp added after clearing his throat. "Let's hear your hypothesis, m-m-monsieur?"
I just said that this problem is simple but also complex. The most important part, Mlle. Voyles and M. Marsh didn't do it.
"Such a suspicious statement."
"You have to remember the facts of their deaths first. First, what caused M. Gill and Mlle. Howell to die?"
Inspector Sharp looked at the forensic results paper earlier.
"I can't believe I have to go back to this smart paper," he added, "Well, the male victim died because of Ethylene Glycol, while the female victim died from Hemlock."
I was about to ask a question, but Inspector Sharp beat me to it.
"Just in case you don't ask again—um..." Inspector Sharp explained after glancing at me for a moment. "Nevertheless, the hemlock poison was found in the brown blazer pocket of the male victim inside a bottle of cough syrup. The hemlock poison is contained in the coffee brought by the male victim. While the lethal dose of Ethylene Glycol was found in—uh... quite long...."
Inspector Sharp squinted his eyes and read the details carefully.
"Slushies with milk and strawberry variants and toppings of marshmallow, chocolate bars, candy, cotton candy, cream, and cocoa sprinkles. Ethylene Glycol was found in a small Glucagon bottle, which was found in the body of the male victim with a lethal dose. There is also evidence of Ethylene Glycol in the female victim's body, but the cause of death was from Hemlock. Everything is in a swapped condition, well?"
"Please check the forensic data again. Then you also heard the fact that Mlle. Howell doesn't like bitter, while M. Gill doesn't like sweet?"
Inspector Sharp took a deep breath as if he was annoyed by my method.
"Yes, I heard that Miss Howell doesn't like bitter, while Mr. Gill doesn't like sweet. So what?"
"Please check your forensic data again!"
"I've checked and checked! Shouldn't you start explaining!?" Inspector Sharp started to raise his voice and stand up.
But before the butt-chinned man who seemed smarter and more agile than us could speak further, Feline came with her complaints.
"Um, um... sorry, Inspector. I-I don't mean to belittle you, but-um... is Mr. Gill's statement that he has Hypoglycemia in the Forensic data?"
"Miss, I can't be wrong! Everything is in the Foren-"
In an instant, he checked the paper, and I found his face stunned.
"Son of a b*tch!"
He was about to rush out of the place and command other constable staff, but I stopped him.
"Stay calm, butt-chin! That doesn't change the fact that these two didn't commit this murder."
As I said that, Inspector Sharp, who had been drowning in emotions and rushing, began to calm himself.
Feline has certainly learned a lot. Especially, how complicated this case is, which turns out to be simply complex.
