Prompt: Outside the Window
Song: Devil by Super Junior

The pouring rain was always more spiteful when someone had left you. Like it knows what pain you’ve gone though, its jeering streams flowed haphazardly, getting everything wet. Of course, when it rained, it normally made everything wet, but this time, he felt like the rain was dousing everything just because it wanted to, just to annoy him. He really couldn’t put words to this.
The smiley face stress ball leered back at him, just like that guy did.
“I’m leaving you,” She had told him.
He was distraught at this, and before he could ask why, she answered him. “I’ve found someone else.”
Another man- taller, much more imposing, and to her, probably more good looking- slung his arm around her petite shoulders. “C’mon, we gotta go,” He said to her.
It was then when he spotted him. A cocky smirk blazed across his face- the face that a predator makes when he finally kills its prey.
He snapped back, and realised he’d been furiously squeezing the plastic stress ball. Feeling that his wounds were already deep enough, he diched the ball at the closest wall. The yellow streak that it made infuriated him as well.
“Well, well, well, what have we got here?” The infuriating smirk grew bigger. “Is this your old guy?”
She nodded. “Huh. Didn’t know you went for these types.” He almost snapped at that- now that he thought back, he really wanted to know what he meant by that.
“I gave him a chance. I kind of felt for him.” She told him, her voice not hinting at any emotion.
He clicked his tongue, smirk replaced with a glower, and then focused back on him. He got close to make sure his point got through, prodding a finger into his chest. “Listen here buddy, she never had any interest in you, and she never will. She and I have been dating for a month already, and she doesn’t want some around her anymore.”
A month! He angrily stood up, and started to pace off his anger. She had been cheating on him! Even so, they had been dating for almost a year before that slimy guy got his greasy hands on her! He shouldn’t have come in and interfered! He returned the little yellow ball to his hand.
Once he felt he had calmed down enough, he resumed his seat on the windowsill to continue to scowl at the heavens.
That infuriating guy returned to her side. “You got that, kid?” the smirk returning
He was completely dumbfounded, so much so that he couldn’t form a word in his defence.
They turned from him, and made their way from him. As his eyes started to water at the harsh reality of being dumped, she turned her head and uttered her last words to him.
“I never loved you, anyway”
That was truly the point when his world broke.
And the rain came pouring free.
