Department of Special Investigation.
Tarn volunteered to lead Khun Meena to the holding cell for the detention officer. He obsserved her from a close view point. She appeared to be a demure woman cloaking herself in a brown dress to her calves , a beige , longe sleeve shirt down to her wrists , and eyeglasses on. Her clothes made her seem older than she should have been. Tarn walked after her to the cell . The officer opened the door to let her in.
"Khun Meena , please take a rest here for a while."
Meena pivoted to Tarn. She was actually a pretty woman but just lacked cosmetic vanity. With a careless glimpse , people might not notice her hidden pleasant look.
"How long do i have to be here?"
She asked with a trembling voice and wavering pupils. Her dreadful expression drifted as if forever preoccupied with her own thoughts.
"Until we can reach a decision."
Meaan sobbed. A shed of tears dampened the corner of her eyes.
"You believe what i told you , right?"
Tarn looked at her and remained still. He didn't reveal whether he found it trust worthy , only a faint smile was given and explained to her
"Just wait until we can gather all the evidence..."240Please respect copyright.PENANAOlg8A3P4NL
"But i don't have one! I don't have any evidence to show you! That person took everything away...He....sob..."
She lifted both palms to cover her face and wailed.
"Please take it easy. We will investigate it until everything comes to light and find the real murderer to justice."
Tarn placed his hand on her shoulder and squeezed it softly. Meena lifted her gaze and flashed a sardonic grin.
"Do you know what logic i had to go through before i could muster the courage o surrender to the police? It's very hard to head straight and confess my guilt to you all , but i can't stand this insanity anymore."
Her shaken voice blabbered all her distress that she could no longer tolerate. The torment , the terror , caused her three continuous , sleepless days and nights.
Meena asked herself on repeat whether her action was the righteous thing to be done. Even though she told herself that this man deserved to be killed by her. However Meena ultimately had a change of heart because she couldn't turn deaf to her moral voice within. She came forward and made her confession to the police , despite this person having told her that no one would be able to put him and her in cuffs. Still , Meena wanted to roll the dice and do the right thing , making sure this person who had injected the terrible nightmare into her life would pay for his crime.
Meena stepped into the cell , staring at Tarn with unbroken focus. Her expression grew calmer than she had been just now. She asked Tarn with a solemn tone.
"Detective , if someone came along and saved you. Then , he offered you a chance to get rid of someone who had harmed you by forcing you to kill and torture that man , even though you never wanted to.What would you do? Would you see that your own actions were justified? And could this rescuer be seen as a hero who gave you bravery?"240Please respect copyright.PENANAmS84O4WywT
"...." Tarn didn't answer.240Please respect copyright.PENANArCMIbFSebc
"Chuckle! Even you couldn't answer me. But that's it. I understand."240Please respect copyright.PENANA44FZLE8oiT

"Sorry if i said too much. I just want to vent."
Meena told him in a low voice. Her gaze fell downward , oozing a hint of disappointment on her features. Tarn found it understandable as she would seek his trust and sympathy. However , he didn't let it show. Doing so would only boost the suspect's confidence and keep them lying in case her confession proved to be untrue.
"That's alright. It's better to get it off your chest. Please take a rest and don't think too much. Just leave it all in our hands."
Meena gave a slight nod to Tarn. Tarn signaled to the officer to lock up the door and then left. Tarn's expression as he walked down the stairs to the conference room was burdensome. The team , who was diligently examining the evidence , turned around to look at him in a synchronized motion.
Yai addressed "You looked wrong. Why? What did the suspect say to you?"
Pol capt Adjima lifter her gaze from the document in her hand , put the eyeglasses on the table , and then fixated on Tarn's face. She warned him with a detached tone
"You must not let the suspect have their influence on your feelings too much. It'll only make your work difficult."240Please respect copyright.PENANA9NwseQnTxf
"Yes , khun."
Tarn humbly accepted that warning and strode in to sit on an empty chair between Phaya and Yai as he picked up a file case to read. Once the female captain noticed that everyone had already gathered , she made her way to the white board and officially greeted everyone.
"Well , first of all , i'm sorry to muster everyone before the actual onset. You may not need to go into lengthy introductions since you're all familiar with each other. But for me...Singh might have mentioned a few things , but i'd like to introduce myself again..."
The group's eyes reflected diverse perspectives toward their commander , some with a little upset , some with curiosity , and some with disinterest and unenthusiasm. Adjima swept through each of their expressions before emitting a smile.
"I'm police captain Adjima Akrawaiyasoon. I'm inducted as chief of the department of special investigation from now on."
Her eyes roved to the group again and continued
"Our work has a different process from the other department. We take our action faster , on point , and more agile because we're the independent entity that collaborates with various sectors , whether from our commissioners or the experts from various sciences related to our investigation..."
Yai raised his hand. After Adjima nodded in approval , Yai questioned.
"I don't understand why the superior assigned you to be our leader. I don't mean to be difficult , but i just wonder , isn't it too hard for a lone women like you to have six men under your control?"
Tarn elbowed Yai to stop being disrespectful , but Yai ignored and also nudged away from it
"....Honestly no offense or anything , but this is not an easy peasy job for a woman to do , khun."
Adjima beamed a smile , but her eyes disconnected. She walked to roll down the projector screen and picked up the remote control to cast her profile on it.
"I can feel you , Yai. But i have an elite professional background as well. That's why i was tasked to care for all of you."
Khem gasped once he scanned through the text on the screen , then murmured soflty.
"Wow , she used to join the mission in the US , too...Hmm? A criminologist?"240Please respect copyright.PENANAZW53h4uWdB
"Yes , i'm a criminologist , as well as Singh..."
Everyone turned their gaze to Singh. He widened a smile at everyone with twinkling eyes. Adjima went on.
"We opt for criminological and psychological sciences in our work process. We will use 'brain'..." Adjima emphasized as she took a glance at Yai "... To get the criminal , not only physical strength."
She cast a smile on team , but it seemed creepier rather than pretty for some unknown reason.
