I lay on my bed, gazing at the bracelet I found on the corner of my desk. The bracelet was so familiar. Like I've seen it before. The beautiful shiny blue amulet looked as if it was glowing. Like a jellyfish in the dark ocean at night. I stare at the glowing object until I fall asleep and enter the dream, I dream most nights.
I cried as I sat on the ground- blankly staring at it in shock.
And the dream stopped! 'What's going on?' The dream quickly shifted to a different scene.
'A school building? No wait...it's my elementary school. What was it called...Minami Elementary I think?'
"Come on honey, we have to get you into class let's go." My mother was urging me to walk into the school building. As my mother and I walk past some people, she stops and asks for some directions. "Ah yes, Mrs. Domas' classroom is on the left just past that third entrance."
"Thank you" my mother waved and gently pushed once more to start walking. We walked until we saw a little boy waiting for me and my mother.
"Hello...are you Hirakus' mother?" the boy looked up at my mom, without batting an eye.
"Uh yes, I'm Hikaru's' mother, and this is Hikaru" She urged me to step forward so I could be led to my new classroom. I wave goodbye and frown as I walk with the boy who keeps talking about the rules. But I spaced out a bit and ignored everything he was saying.
Why’d we have to move to such a big city? I don’t like it. I liked living with Grami. Why’d we have to go?”
"hikaru...Hikaru...HIKARU!!! Are you listening to me" I jumped and turned to the boy.
"What sorry, I might have dozed off... I don't know how to focus very well, sorry... hmm... what's your name?" I stare into his green eyes, and he steps sideways a bit and bows slightly.
"My name is Alex Ramires Sanchez Iglesias. I'm the best-behaved kid in the school building, in my grade at least. So, the school principal decided to have me show you to our classroom." He smiled and began to walk a little more confidently.
"We have the same instructor?"
"Yes, we do. And you are pretty smart because all of the teachers have been talking about you for a while now." I look at him in amazement.
"Wow...really?" he nods and stops and turns to his left. He pointed at the door and nodded at me once more.
"This is our classroom, make sure to knock, and then when the teacher asks who it is just state your name and she will either say "Enter" or "Wait" understand?" I look shake my head in disapproval.
"I don't think I'm ready!" he sighs and knocks on the door. I freeze up and start to freak out.
"Who is it?" I tense up and swallow.
"Hikaru Akai, Ma'am" I close my eyes and hope that she says wait.
"Wait" I smile, hold my bag, and thank the gods.
"You know what...come on in Hikaru." I shatter into millions of pieces. 'I should have just kept quiet.' I open the door slowly and peek my head in slightly. All the kids were at their tables talking together and all looked at me at the same time as soon as I walked in. It was like I was a completely different type of person, or I was a display that was going to be put up in a new art show. I slowly head toward the teacher, but she stops me and tells me to stay right there and introduce myself to everyone. I start to breathe heavily, and I look towards Alex for some help, but he just gives me a thumbs up, and a nod. I looked at everyone, and I whispered and stuttered everything.
"My-My name is-is-s Hikaru Ak-Akai, I hope to be fr-friends with e-everyone." I bow and slowly walk to the teacher. She pats my shoulder and gestures for me to go make some friends and hang out with everyone. I walk towards Alex and then I see a boy with his head on a table facing the window, he has black curly hair and a yellow bucket hat on. I stroll along through everyone, and I sit in the chair next to him. I look up at the clouds and I smile before looking at the boy. He looks at me then back at the sky. I look at him more and notice his eyes. They were just vibrant azure blue. It looked like the ocean was in his eyes, no not the ocean but the sky.
"Your eyes..." The boy panics and covers his face with the yellow hat, then whispers.
"Please don't look at my eyes." And barriers his face in his arms. I lay my head down and just smile at him.
"Why?" he looks back at me in confusion, still with his head barrier slightly less by his arms.
"What do you mean why not look at them?... You were going to say my eyes are fake... A- And I hate being told that they're fake. "He then barriers his face in his arms again. I laugh a little and sit up and look at the big blue sky.
"Well, I wasn't going to say that they were fake. I was going to say that your eyes were beautiful and that they looked like the big blue sky or the big Atlantic Ocean. I wasn't going to say they were fake. But they are definitely the prettiest things I have ever seen in my life. And you can believe what I say is absolutely true." He looked at me and smiled the happiest smile I have ever seen.
"Lucas. Nice to meet you."
Everything then begins to fade into the back ibis. And I slowly see nothing but the whisps of blue.
'Lucas?'
