Alone In A Meadow
By: Nera
I could feel the gentle Spring air, a calling, telling me to open my eyes. I was in a field of various white and purple flowers. Why was things looking so peaceful now? I started to believe I lost my control... but did I really ever have any?
Sure, I could move around this place as I please, but I couldn't change the events that happened, no matter how hard I tried. This meadow was a place for contemplation, a place that acts as a checkpoint between one moment and another.
The dandelion fruits blow away from me, not concerned where they are going. I only picked it up for a second and its already running away. Footsteps stopped behind me. "Nera."
That voice was so familiar to me. "Hey, are you going to look at me?"
"Why are you here, Nester?"
"I'm not Nester." The voice was different, now it was using the voice of Winter. "How could you mistaken your best friend like that?"
"I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry for, stupid?"
"Dud?" No response. "Are you still there?"
"Of course we are."
We? Oh, right. It was the twins, Sage and Nova. "Why are you playing games with me?"
"I'm just listening to my music."
"Now it's Delta. What is even doing this..." I thought to myself. "...I just want it to stop."
"You'll be okay. I'll guide you in the right direction."
"Eri?"
I finally gave into the temptation, turning my head. Nothing, only more flowers on a never-ending hill. I tried flipping through my mind to see if I could interpret it somehow, but I came up empty. The same sirens from the cornfield started to blare, and after that, I woke up.
