It was now the fifth period, after lunch, during the chemistry class. Vyakhya turned to reach for her chemistry book in her bag, only to realize she had forgotten it at home. This was unfortunate, especially since the teacher had reminded them about bringing their books for the past 10 days through the class message group. Rumors of the strict and rule-bound nature of the chemistry teacher added to her anxiety as she observed that every single one of her 39 classmates had their books with them. Panic set in as the teacher entered the classroom, armed with a stern ruler and a serious expression.
Siksha, noticing Vyani's distress, asked from behind, "What happened?"
"Vyani responded in a hushed tone, "I forgot my chemistry book."
All three of them, Amisha, Avni, and Shiksha, turned to look at her in surprise.
"Oh my goodness, this teacher is strict even with the top students," Avni whispered nervously.
"You should just tell the teacher, maybe he'll understand," Amisha suggested.
Vyani gave a sarcastic smile in response.
"No, act like you have your book. Amisha, share yours with her," Shiksha advised.
"O-okay, but remember to be honest," Amisha gently nudged Vyani.
"Who is Amisha Joshi?" the teacher called out.
Standing up, Amisha confidently replied, "Sir, it's me!"
"Come here with your book, bachaa" The teacher firmly ordered.
Amisha didn't hesitate as she walked up to the front with the book. Vyani lowered her head, trying to hide herself from the teacher's stern gaze.
"Beta, check if everyone has their books or not," the teacher ordered.
Without hesitation, she replied, "Sir, Vyakhya didn't have her book."
Vyakhya looked at her in disbelief, while Avni and Shiksha shared the same reaction. "What the hell?" muttered Shiksha.
"Who is this Vyakhya? Get out of the class, fast," said the teacher, not even looking at her, his eyes fixed on his register.
Vyani frowned as she slowly made her way out of the room, feeling the weight of all the students' eyes on her, making her feel like the circus clown. She glared at Amisha, who was blinking at her, mouthing "sorry, but you know." Vyani smiled sarcastically at her before exiting the room.
"Ugh, that bitch," Vyani muttered to herself as she leaned against the classroom wall.
"Oh my gosh, what a shame, getting kicked out on the first day," Tis said, appearing out of nowhere.
"I know, right? I managed to dodge Ayaan during lunch, but got caught here. And why did he even come to this school? I don't care if his last school didn't offer the commerce stream, there are other options out there," Vyani complained.
"Sad, sad... Listen, I have some business in the middle world. If anything interesting happens, just come find me, okay?" Tis informed her.
"Sure thing, you can leave me here too," Vyani replied, sitting down in the corridor, her back against the wall.
"Haha, bye!" Tis chuckled before disappearing.
"Hey, chutku, catch!" a guy from her class tossed a rough notebook and pen at her as he emerged from the classroom. "Sir said to learn the periodic table from the back of this notebook," he added before leaving.
Vyani, now feeling very irritated, had a whirlwind of thoughts in her mind. She felt like the echo of a silent cave.
She sat there, scratching her pen on the notebook, her black skirt now dusty from sitting on the corridor floor. Her short hair was tucked behind her ears, with the sun's rays gently falling on her face as she continued to scratch the page, lost in her thoughts.

Sankshipt's POV
I stood there waiting for them to pass the ball to me, "How long has it been since they started hating me?" I pondered. Was it really my fault that I got the highest score in the humanities section? I couldn't contain myself any longer. I lunged and took the ball from my own teammate as they all shouted at me to give it back. I noticed Pratham, my best friend, smirking at me, and my eyes fell on Nishkarsh, who was lost in thoughts about his already committed crush from the science section, Shiksha. She didn't even know how much he cared for her. I never quite grasped the concept of love – why would you do things that adults do at an age where you're supposed to focus on your career? I mused to myself before someone yelled from behind.
"Sankshipt bhai(bro), you're not the only one playing!" someone else shouted. "Why should we give the ball to you, you're such a fucking nerd, go study somewhere!"
I had enough. I kicked the ball with all my force in any direction, ran a hand through my hair, and glared at my team.

Vyani's POV
I was irritated as hell as I scratched the hell out of the paper with the black pen in my hand, and then suddenly a ball came flying from nowhere. I was startled and shouted "aaa" in not a very loud voice. The ball stopped in front of me after hitting the empty bucket nearby. I just stared at it, wondering where it came from.

The team players shot him some serious looks as his friend Pratham tried to calm the situation.
"Guys, he's just ticked off, let him be, no need for a scene," Pratham reasoned.
"Yeah, now we gotta deal with his rage too, just 'cause he's the golden boy now?" one of the players grumbled.
"Can you all just cut it out, enough already," Nishkarsh intervened.
"Bring the ball back from where you chucked it," the other team captain demanded, his tone laced with anger.
Sankshipt let out a scoff before darting inside, sweat glistening on his body, his face slightly flushed with anger. He made his way down the corridor and spotted the ball, just to find a girl eyeing it curiously.
He ran inside as he leaned down to pick the ball then turned his head, and then he saw her as she saw him, their eyes locked on each other for a brief moment.

She looked at him , the guy she always have seen going around with Nishkarsh and sometimes with Ayaan too. He was handsome, may be even more handsome then Nishkarsh as his big eyes was on her this time, his face was red and he was sweating, his one hand on the ball lying there and he was wearing that blue jersey with 7 written on it , his arms were muscular, the veins on his hand clearly visible through his transparent skin, he was looking at her, right at her.

He looked at her, he has always seen her, going around with Shiksha and may be he has seen her in the school scholar board too. She was cute, her face small, her hair messed up, a little ink smudge on her nose ,her whole structure was very small compared to him ,her lips pink with a little mole on the side of her cheek, With one hand on the football on the ground and the other gripping a black pen, next to a notebook filled with black pen scratches, she was looking at him, right at him.
"Ahem..." He broke the intense eye contact, causing her to startle and withdraw her hand from the ball. She stumbled backward, on the verge of falling when he swiftly grabbed her arm, pulling her closer to him.
"Sorry, sorry," she uttered nervously, glancing around awkwardly as she stood up.
"It's okay," he reassured her in a soft tone before retrieving the ball and walking away, leaving her alone in the corridor.

She blinked awkwardly, settling back in the same corridor, pondering how much messier her life might become. Meanwhile, he exited the corridor onto the field delivering the ball to the team, contemplating how much more exhausting his day could possibly get.
