The next day, as I went over to the cafeteria for lunch, I sighed in relief that the day was halfway through.
“Hey, Heardt!” I sighed. There was only one person that called me by my last name.
“What do you want, Hunter?” My shoulder slumped.
His hand grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. “Not happy to see me? Or are you just avoiding me so that you could stop imagining my six pa-”
The last syllables were cut off because I slapped a hand over his mouth. Then he had the absolute audacity to lick my hand. I tore it off quick as a flash and started shaking it vigorously. “Eww, eww, eww,”
I glared at him and could clearly see that he was trying to hold in his laughter. “It’s just saliva”
“Oh, go ahead. I know you want to laugh!” I growled.
He started laughing so hard that he was bent in two and tears were coming out of his eyes. After a while, my lips started twitching as well. “Why me, Hunter? What on earth do you want from my life?”
He stopped laughing and stared at me. I noticed that his eyes were bright green with gold flecks in them. It took my breath away.
“I want a lot of things from your life, Heardt,” he breathed.
“Oh there you are, I was looking for you every-” a voice broke through my thoughts. I whipped around to see Janet looking at me guiltily. “I’m so sorry, did I interrupt something?”
“No, no. We were just going to lunch when we had a heated conversation.” Colton from behind me said.
Janet didn’t look convinced, but she agreed anyway, “Whatever floats your boat, then. Let’s go eat I’m starving” We all rushed down the empty hallways to the cafeteria.

I lined up for lunch and started putting a sandwich, a slice of pizza, an apple and a glass of cranberry juice on my tray. I thought about the moment in the hallway before. What were my feelings for Colton, I wondered. And what should I do about them? Suddenly, I hit the front of my tray on something else. Something hard. Another person. I watched in horror as the cranberry juice spilled on that someone’s newly pressed Lacoste white polo. I cringed and looked up into the glaring eyes of none other than Dante Evans.693Please respect copyright.PENANAskqSV9KZdn
