These few words echos on my mind.
It's what Kyle always tells me.
I've always trusted and believed in him... but now, he is gone. I don't know where he is, why he left nor if he is even alive. He just... disappeared.
My mobile phone suddenly rings and so, I answered.
Mobile Phone Conversation
Krissy: "Hello?"
Jenny: "Oh, thank goodness!"
Jenny: "You finally answered my call!"
Jenny: "Just so you know, I've been trying to reach you since forever, but you never picked up the phone."
Jenny: "What's going on, Krissy?"
Krissy: *deep breath*
Krissy: *sad tone of voice* "Oh, Hi Jenny... I'm so sorry for not being able to get in touch... things has been... quite difficult for me, recently."
Jenny: "You still haven't heard anything from him?"
Krissy: *sighs*
Krissy: "Still nothing..."
Krissy: "It's not like him, y'know?"
Krissy: "Suddenly leaving... disappearing without saying anything - without saying goodbye."
Krissy: *worried and shaky voice* "He suddenly stopped communicating with me."
Krissy: *exclaims worriedly* "He disappeared without a trace, Jenny!"
Krissy: "I'm so lost with everything and with what has been happening. I don't know what to do anymore."
Jenny: *deep breath*
Jenny: "It's been more than 2 months, Krissy..."
Jenny: *sad tone of voice* "I don't want to be the one to tell you this, but don't you think it's time to move on?"
Jenny: *sighs heavily*
Jenny: "I'm really worried about you."
Jenny: "You haven't been leaving your house and I bet you're always locked up in your room, too."
Jenny: "You don't do anything. You are always coop up in your bed and this is not becoming healthy for you."
Jenny: *sad tone of voice* "I'm getting really worried..."
Krissy: *bits her lower lip*
Krissy: *sad tone of voice* "I'm sorry if I had you worried..."
Krissy: *reassuring voice* "Don't worry, I'll try to get better soon, okay?"
Krissy: "But for now, you should go ahead and rest up. It's getting late anyway, I'll call you again tomorrow, okay?"
Jenny: "Yeah, sure."
Jenny: "Take care of yourself, alright?"
Jenny: "Goodnight, Krissy."
Krissy: "Uh-hmm... Goodnight."
Phone Hangs Up - End of Mobile Conversation.
With a frown on my face, I put down my phone on top of my bedside table as I lay in bed, placing my right hand on my forehead covering my eyes.
Talks to self with a sad tone of voice
Krissy: "There is nothing to be sad about..."
Krissy: "I shouldn't be sad at all."
Krissy: "After all, Jenny was just stating a fact - and she is right. Nothing has been happening in my life."
Krissy: "Day by day, I feel like a dead person who has no life - no sense of purpose - no drive nor passion to do anything."
Krissy: *slowly whispers to self* "Nothing at all..."
I urge myself to stand up from bed and walk my way to the closet room, looking for a change of clothes.
Talks to self as she browse clothes from closet
Krissy: "I know, it's getting really late but if I don't get out of the house now, I don't know when I'll be able to."
Krissy: *frantically talking to self* "I have to do this now. I don't know where, but I have to go out - anywhere will do!"
I don't know why but I feel as if I am panicking. It's as if I am having sudden realization of how much lifeless my life has been just because one person suddenly left me.
What really puts me off is the fact that the more I am aware of how this has been affecting my life, the scarier it comes to be. It's that feeling as if someone can easily make or break you. It makes you feel as if you don't have any control over your life at all... and honestly, the moment I realized that - it scared me. It scared the living hell out of me!
It's eleven o'clock and I made my way out of the house wearing a jeans jacket over a white tank top paired with a gold stitch jeans to make myself look decent.
With no idea where to go, I decided to just walk aimlessly with no destination set in mind. Moments later, I realized I instinctively end up going to the neighborhood's public playground which reminded me of Kyle once again. We used to hang out here a lot way back when we first started dating. He would gently push me on the swing... It was very sweet and romantic. As I reminisce the past, I can't help but give off a faint smile.
I took out my phone from my pocket to take a look at the photos we had together. We look so happy and in love... to the point, seeing the photos made me feel emotional once again.
Talks to self with a sad and shaky tone of voice with tears filling her eyes that slowly falls to her cheeks as she stares at their photo on her phone
Krissy: "Kyle... Where are you?"
Krissy: "Don't you love me anymore?"
Krissy: "Why are you doing this to me?"
Krissy: "Do I not have any worth at all for you not to give me any form of explanation at all?"
As I start to walk and leave the playground area with a frown on my face, a stranger reaches me from behind that stops me as he pats me on my shoulder.
Stranger: "Hi Miss! Can I ask you something?"
I turned around startled and surprise.
Krissy: "Kyle!? Is that you?!"
The so-called stranger came to be a man who looks exactly, if not almost, like Kyle who scratches his head, obviously weirded out to my sudden claim.
Stranger: "Kyle? I think you have mistaken me for someone else."
Stranger: *he says in confidence* "I'm no Kyle, but my name is Mike!"
Krissy: (H-He... he's not Kyle? But he looks almost exactly like Kyle!)
Krissy: (This is crazy, have I really gone mad?!)
Krissy: (Who am I kidding... Kyle isn't here anymore.)
Krissy: (I am just embarrassing myself by mistaking him for the love of my life!)
Mike: *he waves his hand as he notices me in a daze* "Uh... Hello, are you still there?"
Krissy: *says exhaustingly* "Oh, gosh! I'm so sorry... My mind is a bit of a mess right now. I can't believe I've actually mistaken you for someone else!"
Mike: "Hey, don't worry about it - not a problem at all!"
Mike: *chuckles* "We all have those days anyway."
Krissy: "Right... So, anyway, you wanted to ask me something, right?"
Mike: "Oh yeah!"
Mike: "Well, this may sound a bit weird but are you perhaps, Krissy Snow?"
As soon as I hear him asking me that question... It's as if everything around me is suddenly in slow motion. His voice echos on my mind. again and again asking, "Are you Krissy Snow?" I find myself being in utter shock.
First, he looks like Kyle but he is not Kyle. Now, he is asking me if I'm Krissy Snow. Well, heck! I really am Krissy Snow but how does he even know that when I don't know him at all?! He is a complete stranger to me!
Did I just bump into a crazy stalker and should I be scared and start running for my life now?! What should I even do in this kind of situation, anyway!
