Personality and Motivation
Rebecca is very alike to Eloise in her opinions on upper class society but also a bit more aware of the class divide than Eloise is. This awareness comes from reading a wider range of literature than the collection available to high society (as part of an education insisted on by her mother). She has very little experience of the world and is aware of her privilege and wants to use her money to help those less fortunate than her. Unfortunately, that means marrying well, marrying someone who will understand her wish to do good and help to carry it out. That is proving a difficult task, especially as very few men strike Rebecca's fancy and she cares more about the female gaze.
Overall though, unless she's with friends or family, Rebecca keeps her opinions to herself. Not necessarily to preserve her reputation, as she doesn't care too much about that, but because she cannot stand the bother of explaining herself to strangers.
Rebecca seems the picture of a polite society lady at first but underneath her act, she's quite an opinionated, funny, witty person and she refuses to be defined by her gender.
Familial Relationships
Mary Pinkerton (mother) - Mary Pinkerton comes from a middle class background and her mother happened to marry into high society. It was a scandal at the time but it is now only a distant memory to the ton. Because of her background though, Mary raised her children, especially her daughter, to be more than empty-headed rich people. She wants them to have good and meaningful lives. Mary gave her kids a proper education, one more thorough than just preparing for marriage. Mary also allows the house to be a safe space for her children to express themselves and to forget about the rules of polite society. As a result, the family is probably even more tight-knit than the Bridgertons. Rebecca adores her mother and considers Mary her closest friend.
Carl Pinkerton (father) - Carl was raised to be a proper society gentlemen and when he fell in love with Mary, he was forced to unlearn some of his education in order to properly understand her. Unfortunately, there is still a huge gap in understanding between the two and it trickles down to the children as well. Carl loves Mary and his kids very much but he doesn't quite understand why they don't behave as society tells them to. Rebecca loves her father, but wishes he put more effort into understanding the rest of the family.
