Darkness surrounded them like a violent storm, and Jacob felt as if the world around him was being torn apart. He tried to control his thoughts, but that dark force was filling his mind, engulfing his soul and pushing him to the edge. Every moment he got closer to the being, those shadows grew stronger inside his heart. It was becoming harder for him to distinguish between what was real and what were just reflections of the darkness that was invading his mind.
"Jacob!" Liara shouted as she grabbed him, but her voice was weak compared to the dark whispers that began to seep into his ear. There were strange voices moving through him, voices threatening him and urging him to retreat, to surrender to that deep power.
"Are you going to let it take you over?" the dark being whispered in Jacob's ear, its voice like a deep echo reverberating deep within him. "You are part of this world. Part of the darkness. No matter how hard you try to escape, you will always be a part of it."
The darkness that engulfed him was stronger than anything he had ever experienced before. The spirit that had once inhabited him was now dissipating, replaced by something else, something he couldn't fully comprehend. That power was flowing out of him and into the world, as if he was opening a portal to this darkness. "I am not a part of you!" he cried out, clenching his fists in pain.
Liara was standing beside him, trying to bring him back to himself. "Jacob, remember who you are! Remember us! We need you!"
But Jacob felt lost. He was in a deep vortex of internal conflict, part of him wanting to drown in darkness, while another part of him screamed for light. "I... I can't control this... This is bigger than me."
At that moment, the dark being began to draw closer to them, growing clearer, its shape taking shape from the blackness. Its body was like a moving shadow, its features completely indistinguishable. It was manipulating the reality around them, making them feel as if they were stuck in one place, trapped in an endless moment.
"You are weak, Jacob." The being said with a wry smile. "I opened the gate, and now there is no escape for you. The darkness will rule this world, and you are a part of it."
Liara was still holding his hand, her eyes filled with determination. "You are stronger than this, Jacob. Don't let them waste you. We are here for you."
Then something unexpected happened. A strange feeling swept over Jacob, as if the weight of the entire world had been lifted from him for a moment. The words the dark being had spoken echoed in his ears, but something inside him pushed him to reject them. "You are... wrong." Jacob whispered, his eyes shining with determination.
At that moment, he felt something strange happening inside his heart, as if he had regained a part of himself that had been lost for a long time. He had decided to face the darkness, even if the consequences were unknown. He knew that his strength lay not in directly challenging the darkness, but in his ability to overcome himself.
As he swept his hand through the air, he felt something yank him from deep within, as if a beam of light had surged from deep within him, breaking through the density that surrounded them. It was a weak light at first, but it began to grow stronger. It was a massive beam of hope, filled with energies that had arisen from his inner struggle. The darkness was whispering to him, trying to drown him, but he chose to fight.
"I won't let you control me anymore!" Jacob shouted at the top of his lungs, the light growing stronger in his hand.
The energy he was releasing began to permeate the darkness, and the distance between him and the being shrunk. The dark being began to retreat, as if the light that emanated from it was resisting it.
"No... This is impossible!" The being screamed in terror, the darkness surrounding him vibrating in the air as if it was threatening to disappear.
But before he could fully comprehend what was happening, Jacob felt something strange inside himself. The energy he had released had begun to take another turn. The life that flowed from him was seeping into all sides of the temple, and the spirit that had been buried in the stone had spread out into the world.
"The darkness is not where you think it is, Jacob. It is deep within you, but it is not stronger than you." Liara's voice came, as she placed her hand on his heart, as if to give him strength.
Jacob, after a moment of silence, looked around and saw that the light had spread, and finally the darkness was beginning to recede. He now knew that the battle was not only against the dark being, but against the darkness that dwelt deep within him. He had to face it with all his might, and restore balance to himself.
"We have lost so much." Jacob said, panting from the effort, but his face was bright with hope.
Liara and Zara were standing behind him, their eyes full of respect and appreciation. "But we survived." Liara said with a small smile. "And the darkness will not return, as long as there are those who resist it."
At that moment, the trees were beginning to come back to life, and the temple was gradually returning to its former state. However, Jacob knew that victory was not yet certain. The darkness had receded, but those forces were still out there somewhere, waiting for the opportunity to return. But with every step he took, he knew that he was now stronger. And that he could face anything, as long as he had someone by his side.
