"O mighty Zeus,"Gaea told her grandson one day,"the time has come for you to take your place among the God's.Cronos and the Titan's will fight you tooth and nail to stay in power but in the end you will prevail.Free my First Born, the Hundred Hands Giants, and they will be your allies."
This new God wasted no time in heeding the words of Earth,he went at once to Tartarus and fooled the prison keeper,Kampe, into looking down into the Void.
"I hear there is a Well of Wisdom down there, cousin,"Zeus told him,"together we can learn the secrets of Chaos, who has never told anyone her origins."
"That is a tempting endeavor,"agreed Kampe,a giant dragon with six heads all belching flames.
"The problem is that we must stick our head into the hole in order to hear the dictates of Fate. Here, I'll hold your tail while you bend down to listen."
Kampe foolishly believed her cousin because she wasn't as smart as some of the others who had learned the evil ways of the world early and had survived because of it.
No sooner had the fearsome dragon bent to far over the edge that Zeus pushed her all the way in!
He peered into the depths of Tartarus and called out:"Briareaus,Gyes,Cottus! Do you hear me!"
"We hear you,"the Hekatonkheires responded eagerly.
"I will stretch out my hand to pull you to safety, but only if you swear on the River Styx to aid me in my war against the Titanides!"
"We agree!" his distant uncles replied.
One by one they were pulled out of the hidden abyss and soon there were four of them plotting to defeat Cronos and the Titans.
