After seeing this occur many times in the past couple weeks I felt as if I should say something.

Not one person is the same. We all have different belief systems. No one can agree with another person 100%. It's what makes each person their own.
It's no secret that people don't like that idea or, if they do, don't act like it. Too often when we encounter someone with opposite opinions we immediately get offended. What happens next? A giant argument with both sides pushing their opinions as hard as they can.
I have three things to say on this issue.
1. It's okay to get offended.
"What!? I shouldn't ever let someone offend me."
Sorry, but I think it's true. In our culture getting offended is the pinnacle of pain. Honestly, if getting offended is the worst thing that happens to you then you're extremely fortunate.
Now I'm not saying you shouldn't defend your case, but if you're going to do it do it with a clear mind. Get over your shock that other people don't think the same way as you do. Most likely in life you'll meet a lot of people who don't agree with you on everything.
Healthy discussion and heated arguments are two very different things.
2. Once you get offended don't defend your case with snide comments or angry outbursts.
There's nothing more immature than someone yelling at another person simply because they disagree. Go in a YouTube comment section and you'll see a lot of these kinds of people. (Depending on what kind of video you watch. Music and gaming videos have them for sure.)
3. Don't feel like your opinion is the ultimate and what you're saying is showing others how wrong they are.
No, just don't. Don't strive to be that person. It's arrogance at its finest and most likely you'll end up yelling in an attempt to prove you're right. No one will take you seriously and certainly won't give you the time of day if you take this method.743Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ4w167ttCPo
Before I end, keep this in mind. Most of the time no one will change their original opinion by the end of a debate.
