I am an atheist. To me, religion is a useless scapegoat, used to categorize and shun others. What is religion to you? Hope? When has your religion, be it Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, or otherwise, given you hope? Do you believe in miracles? Religious people don't believe in magic, usually, but what else could a miracle be? Faith is useless to me. It keeps you from acting on your own.644Please respect copyright.PENANAt2U9HknZ8O
In the past, Priests gave the sick false hope through religion, instead of finding cures for their ailments. The poor were, to "God", unworthy of his attention. Is God really so cruel, to make one suffer due to their heritage?
If God is real, he is not worthy of your praise. He is an unjust man, punishing humans as a whole for one man's faults.
I am an atheist because of several reasons. I don't remember how old I was, but I was very young, ten maybe, when my grandfather died painfully of pancreatic cancer. He was a wonderful man, never abusive, never rude. I will never understand why 'God' did this to him. My dad lost his job that same year. Nine months later, my brother was born. He had autism. We were a family of kind, understanding people, why did this happen to us?
After my brother was born, and diagnosed with autism, I gave up on God. He is not real. I grew harsh, rude. Perhaps this was due to my age, as I was by now a teenager, but I believe it was because of my realization.
God is not real.
