From the very start, I would try and learn new things. As an infant, who wouldn't? Curiosity was and continues to be a major trait of myself.
I remember, at three years old, running through tall grass, it touched and tickled our foreheads when we ran. We'd clear out a big circle, and then make pathways everywhere, like a maze. Then there was a wooden play-house, home made in the country side at my friend's house. There were stairs that led to an attic, calling and beckoning us to crawl into the small hole that led to the rafters.
But I also remember the crack of wood, the buzz of a hive, and us running back to the safety of our rooms. When we'd come back with scrapes and stings, bruises and breaks. We were wild youth.
I recall being rebellious, wandering in the balcony of the church and my Mom giving me a knowing look when I threatened to throw a paper airplane down below to listening heads. I strongly wished I could be folded paper, gliding through the air and landing someone no one could guess. Just to go with the breeze that carried.
And that wish continued to call me when I would sit alone at lunch, watching longingly at the girls who played without me, but smiling at the boys who invited me. I wished I could fly above them and ignore the ego of the playground.
Pink monkey bars mocked me, even when I courageously faced them to say hello to a curly-haired red-head. She nodded and left, along with a few others who hung on the metal rods.
And I remember meeting a girl, who smiled at me and sat down. I remember a boy who invited me, and the girl who smiled followed me. I remember feeling respect. Unearned, and unworthy, they loved me.
So I adventure and find lonely souls, reaching out and being a whisper to give them enough strength to stand on their own. 762Please respect copyright.PENANA4Vmq801ozw
I am a wanderer, losing myself only in my own imagination, and holding the hands of those who helped me, and those I've touched in return. I am strong through many people, unranked by the daunting totem pole society offers, equal and loved.
