Peter returned to stuffing his face with popcorn. I rolled my eyes and continued to make dinner. Chris was in the kitchen with me, helping me make dinner.
"I hope you like Mexican food," I remarked.
"Honestly, I like any food." I snickered, spreading cheese.
"Then, you're like Peter Pan over there. He'll stuff anything edible into his mouth. Though, he just won't eat anything green. It's very odd."
"I'm working on it," Peter called from the living room. Chris laughed. Peter had insisted of dinner and watching a movie. I picked out Peter Pan just for kicks. Since we were on that subject, Peter suggested we eat seafood ode to the pirates in that movie. Though, all I had was ground beef and lettuce and peppers. Tacos it was. Chris began cutting up more lettuce and vegetables.

"I need to go shopping tomorrow. Peter Pan, wanna go to the store with me tomorrow?" I called. He grunted something that sounded like a yes.
"Wait, don't you have to talk to one of those publishing agents or whatever? You told me you had to yesterday," He called back.
"That's at 3. We'll leave at eleven."
"Thanks, Chris," I remarked, turning towards him.
"My boyfriend will be over in a little bit. But, he's only sweeping by." An unusual smirk played on his lips.
"That's alright," He said. I returned to cooking the ground meat. Peter walked lazily into the kitchen.
"We're out of popcorn." I groaned, slamming my head on the cabinet.

"You're going to get fat eating so much," I complained. He rested a hand on my shoulder.
"Wendy, darling. My stomach is an abyss that needs to be filled by your wonderful food. Do you understand?" I turned around swatted him away.
"Go back to the living room." He chuckled and left.
"So, I guess he's your friend," Chris remarked.

"For 5 years, yep. I met him in the 8th grade. He was a misfit with a broken ankle who refused to stay at home and heal. I was a short, quiet girl who stuffed her face behind glasses and adored Lord of The Rings. Then, we became friends by lunchtime due to seating arrangements. It was actually quite cute. We made up a group of one nerd, me, Peter, two perverts, a sleep-induced comedian, and a girl obsessed with dogs and Hello Kitty. Then, the perverts moved. Kitty girl got lice and was never seen again. The comedian transferred to a different school and I think the nerd may be in college. Peter and I? We're all that's left. He's like a fluffy turtle that wants to eat everything. Hard shell, super vulnerable on the inside, and very very childish." Chris chuckled.

"Dinner's ready!" I yelled. Peter raced back into the room, skidding across the floor in his socks.
"I can't believe you're 19, Peter Pan," I remarked, making my dinner.
"Eh, never grow up," He said back. Then, he scooped up his food and raced back out of the room.
"What about you, Christopher Robin?" I teased, pouring myself some iced tea. He shrugged, pulling a plate out of the pile near the stove.
"Not much to tell. I have two sisters. Knightly has dyslexia and Kay has epilepsy."
"Oh, Chris. I'm so sorry." He shook his head.

"It's okay. They're gonna be alright. Anyway, I'm 19. I don't have many friends. Most of them left me for people who had a better personality. Or people with dreams....I was gonna go to college. But, I turned it down to support my family. I've always dreamed of going. I want to to be a...an astronomer...or maybe an astronaut. It doesn't matter which. I just want to be closer to space than I am now." I smiled. I grabbed his hands and started swinging them around playfully.

"So, who's the lucky lady that'll be accompanying you on this rugged journey?" I remarked, smiling. His face dropped. I stopped swinging his arms.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You can keep a secret, right?" He asked, suddenly horsely.
"Yeah, Chris." His eyes loomed down to the ground.
"I've only had one girlfriend. But, after her, I realized that I'm not......I..." The words came out before he even said anything.
"Chris, are you gay?" I asked, scooping up just enough courage to ask. Sadly, he nodded.
"Why are you so ashamed? I think that's great." I told him.
"No, it's not great. It's not Christen." My eyes furrowed.
"Love should be equal. As long as the partners are content, there should no limit. You're in a same-sex marriage state anyway." Chris sighed.
"I'm not planning on staying in New York, Darcy. I want to move to a place with a good college. But, there's so many laws on this stuff. I just wish gay marriage was as simple as straight marriage. It's not fair in my opinion." I nodded, understanding every word.

"I know, Chris." Then, the door opened and Leo walked through.
"Darcy, I'm exhausted." I smiled and gave my boyfriend a hug.
"Hey, we have a guest," I said.
"Who?" Chris leaned on the doorway. Leo cocked his eyebrow.
"You're that guy that spilled my coffee." Leo remarked. Chris's face turned a deep red.
"Yeah, sorry about that."

I smiled sheepishly and dragged Leo into the kitchen.
When Leo saw dinner, his nose bunched up.
"Mexican food? Let me guess. Peter's here." Peter Pan trotted up behind me, picked me up, moved me out of his way, and set me down.
"Hey, Leo," remarked Peter Pan. Leo didn't think of Peter as a best friend.
He was only my friend. 8964 copyright protection828PENANA2EMO3vZZ4O 維尼

Leo thought Peter lived off of me, though that was absolutely not true. Peter actually lived with me in the apartment. He paid most of the rent from his odd jobs. He wasn't going to be living with me forever. No, he was accepted into LSU, Louisiana State University, and was moving to North Louisiana in 7 months. I was very excited for Peter Pan. Then, he'd either find a girlfriend or find a real job—find a reason to stay. As far as I knew, Peter liked New York. Off topic, you've probably wondered why I lead off track of Leo to other people. Well, the people mentioned were crucial in the table turner that took place before Peter went to college. Many things did happen in that long period—things so unforgettable I had to write down. Even if I obtained amnesia after this chapter, I don't suppose one detail of that tragedy would slip my mind. 8964 copyright protection828PENANA9Za2M1lWPW 維尼

"So, Peter, how long until you move again?" Leo asked. Smirking as he piled his plate with food, the other boy said, "7 months. I told you last week. It's gonna take a while to get rid of me." I shuffled uncomfortably. I didn't like it when Leo talked to Peter like that. They had never fought seriously, but the tension between the two was growing. Peter thought Leo was stuck-up. Leo thought Peter was too lazy. We all have our problems.8964 copyright protection828PENANAK1GutIjJD3 維尼
"Can we make this a good day?" I squeaked. Leo glanced at me and sighed.
"Yeah, sorry." He kissed my forehead and made himself dinner.
"You owe me a story, Darcy Brown," He remarked. I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to Chris.
"Do you want to write with us?" Shyly, Chris shrugged.
"I'm not a very good writer." He muttered.
"That's alright."
