Maeve looked down at the villages from the castle. She wished, she could go down there and be herself again. She wished she could wear her armour but she couldn't.
" Don't look so blue my dear."
The queens' son entered the room and walked towards her
Maeve turned her gaze to Fredrick and sighed. " I don't know why you actually accepted, I know you hate me."
Fredrick sat on a chair and sighed.
" Well princess, it's you or old Girda."
To this Maeve couldn't help but chuckle.
To her fortuned Fredrick was completely different from his mother, he didn't agree with her way of ruling but she has something on him as well and he couldn't refuse.
" You never told me what she has on you," Maeve asked.
Fredrick's eyes lowered themselves slowly to the floor, his face looked sad and hurt.
Maeve knew she overstepped.
" I'm sorry, it was out of place."
Fredrick shook his head slowly.
"No, it's just talking about it makes it real."
Maeve walked slowly and sat near him.
" Don't push yourself, lucky for us we are bound by marriage."
Fredrick chuckled. "Not yet."
"Well to your mother I'm already taken care off so."
Fredrick nodded and sighed.
"I hate this situation."
Maeve smiled softly and put her hand on his shoulder.
" We have to find a way out of this."
Fredrick nodded.
" She has my lover locked in a cellar." He blurted out.
Fredricks face contoured with agony. " I miss her so much"
For the first time in months, she saw Fredrick cry. A cry which he held in for long and a cry which he couldn't let out in front of people.
Maeve hugged him and stroked his back, trying to make him feel better. She knew this pain, but she witnessed for the first time a cry for True Love and she had to find a way to help him. She missed Elijah so much, she loved him but near this, she was simply a child heartbroken that her best friend was taken away from her.
" Fredrick, let's go explore."
Fredrick wiped his eyes and nodded.
" But how there are guards everywhere?"
Maeve smiled and got up to her feet.
" Leave it to me."
She knew she had to do her best, this is the only way.
She didn't like using such measures but if this is the only way so be it.
Her mother thought her how to use her beauty to manipulate and destroy. She doesn't consider herself as a beauty but she doesn't know any other way. She needs to give it a shot.
She arranged herself and wore a long white dress.
'Walk, sway, petrify and concur.' Her mother used to say.
She walked.
She swayed.
She petrified.
She concurred.
