Mitchie groaned, knowing the cause behind the chaos. Maggie gave a wan smile and continued with her story.

"I was human at the time, so I was still new to the whole immortal thing. I saw all these beautiful people around me and I felt uncomfortable.

Little did I know that they were all looking at me, hoping I would make a good midnight snack for them. Including my cousin.

I had no idea at the time that she was a vampire but I was distracted at the time. Distracted by....Vincent. He was so charming, I should of known that it was to good to be true. And it was.

Thankfully, he didn't bite me.

But what he did. Was unforgivable.

He left me. With them.

I don't know the full details but their was a lot of shouting and crashes going on and when I opened the door, there were bodies everywhere. 

The vampire clan I was with must of had a run in with the Red Lotus clan, because all I remember was a shape flying at me and then I blacked out. Next thing I know, I'm hooked up to a machine and I felt like the life was being drained out of me.

I would become full of energy again, buzzing with elation.

It was horrible. I didn't know what was real and what was fake.

Sometimes I felt so happy that I thought I could fly. Other times I was so full of pain I wanted to tear my eyes out."

Maggie shut her eyes in pain as she remembered the pain she went through.

She shook her head and began again.

"They won't hurt me anymore. They can't." 

She smiled wanly.

"Because they turned me into one of them." 

Mitchie stared in shock.

She thought Maggie was only a henchman, but they made her an honorary member?! 

"I know where the main base is. I'll show you it. As soon as you tell me how you healed me.  

I know I'm not a Genturian anymore, but I'm probably still a vampire. But I also learnt something else that the Red Lotus needed me for. 

It's slightly ironic. But I'm a necromancer. And so is the guy running the whole operation.

He was the one who taught me.

Devious was only another henchman. But, then again you already knew that didn't you?

When you healed me somehow, I heard you call out a name.

Phantom. 

He's the one who's really behind all this. But, as the name suggests he is untraceable. You'll need to get to Devious first, to find out more about Phantom. 

And that's where I come in.

I never wanted this.

The things the Red Lotus Clan do are despicable. It sickens me to my core. I don't want to be a part of it. I never wanted to be a part of it. So do what you want with me. Arrest me if you want to."

"I don't care anymore."

Mitchie stayed silent for a few seconds, processing what she had just heard.

After a few minutes, Mitchie sighed and replied,

"I'm not going to arrest you."

"But, your a smart one, I'll give you that. You gave me what I need and now it's my turn.

But first, I have a few conditions of my own.

Number 1: You join my investigation team.

No if's, no but's, just do what I say and I'll keep you alive. I need someone who actually knows what they are doing, unlike those 3 imbeciles.

This includes no backing out until the job is done. Even if it means going head to head with the head of the clan itself, then I need you by my side. 

It would be nice to have another girl on my team.

Number 2: You have to at least try and get along with Vincent."

Maggie growled in disgust as Mitchie glared at her to silence her anger.

"I know what he did to you in the past wasn't pretty, but he really has changed for the better. If you want to know, you have to promise me you'll try to forgive him. I can't have him being pinned to the ground every 5 seconds. Deal?"

Maggie paused for a moment.

"All right. It's a deal. Now, tell me."

Maggie leaned forward eagerly, as Mitchie began to speak once again,

"This information must not be told to anyone else, otherwise I will hunt you down and send a bullet through your skull and everyone you care about, even if that person is Vincent."

Maggie stared at Mitchie, her face giving no emotion or remorse and the words she had just spoken. 

She was serious.

Maggie nodded, nervously as Michie began again.

"I was able to heal you using Arcaic magic."

Maggie stared in disbelief.

Arcaic magic had been extinct for centuries!

So how the hell did she manage to get such power?
