Dale got up and gave a speech. Catalina was not paying any attention to the speech at all. All she could do was stare into the crowds in front of her. They were all so focused on her father, the man of the hour. She knew what he was saying was good but she couldn’t bring herself to hear it. The city…her life, was a mess. It was going to take a lot of work to get everything together.

The board began to clap but there was not a single face that smiled for her. That encouraged her even more to keep her job. The company was hers, and they weren’t going to take it.
