Hello friends!
The great distances in interstellar travel are just mind numbing. A hop to Mars would take at least nine months with today's technology. But get this . . . there's no way to land people on Mars at this time. That's just something that will have to be worked out.
Basically that means, once you enter "deep space" (past the moon, because no person has thus ventured beyond the moon), then you will need a good rack of brains on your shoulders because there will be a lot of unknowns to deal with.
But perhaps by 2030 or so, this will come to pass.
Eventually we will need to. Most of Earth has always been cold, at one time covered with 60 miles or 97km of ice and snow. Global warming? Bring it on. It's actually what we need.
Perhaps by the next ice age (some say it has begun) Plan B will be colonizing Mars. The Universe is incredible . . . Anything is possible.
Thanks for stopping by.
