This is from the latest case in India. An eight year old girl from the nomadic Bakarwal community goes missing from her home in Kathua in January, 2018. Investigations revealed the she was kidnapped, confined, sedated and gang-raped repeatedly by a juvenile and three men of different ages. Over 5 days, she was tortured and finally killed.
Of course the entire country erupted in protests. Previously, the Nirbhaya case had sent out shocking waves across India. But, news will continue to pour in rape and violence cases against girls and women. The new will spread. People will be enraged. They will show sympathy on social media and move on with their lives with an extra pepper spray in their pockets. What in the hell’s name have we become?
This was the latest media sensation that shook India from the roots. Tears were impossible to hold in.
Why does India have to show sympathy towards victims, prohibit girls from wearing clothes of their choice? Why does the crowd not tame the men and teach young boys to respect a lady? If this continues, then the world will fail to be anything but a huge disaster.
In my opinion, the world we live in is a nasty place where the sense of justice is somewhere in the negatives. I think every household should adopt a girl child if they don’t have a daughter. Maybe then they might understand caring for them. Being protective over them. Loving them. Respecting them all.
Educate a boy child and prevent him from turning into a monster!
