The news was bad, It was 2:57 am, I got the news my one true love might never walk again.

I held him tight, I felt sick but he needed me, it just wasn't sinking in, the man I held in my arms was unrecognisable.

There were gashes everywhere, my clothes were covered in his blood, I cried into his hair. 

"Theo baby, please hang on, I need you, Tilly and Kyle need their daddy! Please don't leave me, I can't live without you, come back to me baby." 

The doctor handed me a tissue "Mrs Valentine, we need to put your husband In an induced coma,  there's a lot of swelling on the brain this is making it profoundly harder to keep him stable, the nurse will take you to the relatives room and we will keep you posted." 

I shook my head violently, "I'm not leaving him" he looked at me touching my shoulder, "I'm sorry, but you're getting in the way."

I shrugged his hand off me, I stood up and looked straight at him, "what! You think I care about what you say, that man lying there Is my true love, without him I don't exist, so sorry, but I'm staying." 

Just then my dad walked in, "Sacha, oh baby, I'm so sorry, come on let the doctors help Jake, you can't do nothing for him now, It's after he's going to need you."

Dad wrapped me In his arms around me, I suddenly felt safe, I followed my dad into the relatives' room awaiting the dreaded news.

I walked over to the window looking into the darkness instead of darkness I was met with the visions of how we met.

It was my 21st birthday, I was celebrating it with some friends, we went to TGI Fridays, it was a fave of mine and a birthday tradition every year without fail.

This year was different because there he was, he was at the bar and I could feel his eyes on me.

I was a little shy but I could feel the instant pull, I went up to order drinks and he came over.

"Do you come here often, " he giggled, I rolled my eyes and looked at him, Oh my giddy aunt he was well handsome, he had the most definitive features I had ever seen on a man, but what stood out the most was those blue eyes, they were piercing blue like the sea, I felt so drawn to him, more than I had any other man. 

The feeling we belonged together was there instantly, I felt like I never wanted anyone else for the rest of my life only him, I think he felt the same too. 

"Hi and yeah I do as a matter of a fact, every year on this same date but i've never seen you before" he smiled, wow that smile melted something deep inside me, i blushed "My names Theo and no not often it's a first actually I fancied a burger" I giggled because so did I, I'd  been lusting over the bbq pulled pork one all week "nice to meet you Theo, I'm Sacha, there burgers are the best" as I was ordering the drinks he slid something across the bar to me and he walked away.

I picked it up turning it over I was absolutely gobsmacked it was his business card, his name was Theo Valentino and he was a lawyer based in London, I smiled and headed back to the table with the girls. 

A week later I decided to call, I was the typical make them wait, but It wasn't about that this time I was generally nervous, I have always been confident, but this guy made me feel like a teenager, what was this guy doing to me. 

I picked up the receiver and dialled his number and waited. "Hey, this is Mr Valentino, I can't get to the phone now, please leave a message after the tone and I'll get back to you asap" oh damn, I hate voice messengers.

I plucked up the courage and spoke after the beep, "hi Mr Valentino, it's Sacha call back when your free" I put the receiver down and slid down the wall. 

I only got half way down when the phone rang, I quickly picked it up "hello?" "Hey Sacha it's great to hear from you finally" my tummy was doing crazy things right now, I felt like I was on a cloud, floating, drifting into a daydream, "yeah, sorry I have been busy all week." 

I was twiddling with my hair, "ah ok, would you like to have a drink later" I was smiling "yes, I'd love to" I heard him sigh with relief, "great about 8pm at the marriot hotel" ohhhh posh too " yeah see you then bye" I put the phone down and started jumping up and down. 

8pm came and it began the start of my life with him, the best 6 years of my life. We had two beautiful children together, everything was perfect untill tonight. 

As I stared out into the darkness across the carpark, I realised, it didn't matter if he would never walk again, it didn't matter that he may never be the same man, he was still my husband, my world, the man I fell in love with years ago, my one true love. 

I kinda snapped to when the doctor came in, "Mrs Valentino, we have put your husband in the induced coma so he's resting now, maybe it's best you get some rest too" I objected.

"Can't I stay here with him" the doctor was hesitant, "there really is nothing you can do, return tomorrow we will wait to see how the swelling goes over night, we may even try to bring him out of the coma, that's when he will need you" I looked at my dad, he smiled, "Sacha he's right, let's get you home and come back tomorrow, mum's got the kids, so we can come back early" I nodded, "ok but you call me the second anything goes on" the doctor nodded,  "ofcourse I will." 

The drive home was sad, never had I been in my house alone without them all close by, I said Goodnight to dad and stepped through the front door.

As I stepped into the hallway it hit me hard there wasn't a sound there was no Tilly screaming and running around, Kyle wasn't banging cupboard doors, it was momentarily quiet, too quiet.

I flicked on the lights and went up to the bathroom, I had to get these clothes off me they were covered in Theo's blood.

Tears were falling so freely now I never thought they were going to stop, after putting my pyjamas on I went into the bedroom and pulled out the laptop. 

I typed in induced comas, I was scrolling through the process and what I as a wife could do to help her betrothed, it said I should talk to him about our lives, mention special memories, our children, then it said about playing there favourite tunes. 

We only ever really had one, it was played on our wedding and the day our children were born, it had real sentimental value to us and that was ed Sheeran: thinking out loud, I went back to the first time he played me it, he had surprised me with a romantic candle lit supper for two, after I was stuffed he played the song.

We danced bare foot on the wooden floor, we laughed and got all emotional, that was also the night we first made love. 

If anything was going to bring him back to me it was going to be that song, I was sure of it, I laid on the bed trying not to think about the downsides only the positive side, but it was a little hard when you rush into A&E and see the man you love completely unrecognisable.

"No Sasha, think positive! If not for you then for the little ones, everything is going to be ok,  he will wake up" I thought to myself. After many hours of sobbing all the while holding Theo 's pillow sleep finally took me. 

I awoke to the alarm clock going off it was 6:30 am , I jumped up and got dressed just in time as dad beeped the horn, the whole way there I was dreading it, what if he didn't wake up, what if.

"For god sake Sacha snap out of it" dad dropped me off outside and I ran through the hospital all the way to the ICU ward.

I walked up to the desk and asked to see my husband, an elderly nurse took me through to a side room, my heart sank the second she opened the door, there he was laying on the bed tubes everywhere and monitor's all around him, I suddenly remembered what the internet said about talking to him so I walked over and took his hand. "Hey baby it's only me, you're looking a lot better today very handsome I must say, but then you always was, I felt so emotional, so stupid, helpless, I started crying again sobbing on his chest, "come on baby please wake up I need you, the kids send there love there with mum, dad's in the car park so it will probably take him an hour or so,"  I giggled, "bet your missing football or match of the day" I pulled our a cd from my pocket slipping it into a portable cd player I brought along, I plugged in the speakers and pressed play. 

Thinking out loud played out around the room, "do you remember this Theo? It's our song we danced to it that first night, then we danced to it at our wedding, I was so happy that day, then you made me laugh when we had our children you wanted to dance to it then, but I was sucking on gas and air and you had two heads, do you remember, please babe wake up," the song was coming to an end and there was no response nothing not even a murmur. 

I was not going to give up though, I would continue to play it till he got so sick of it he would have to get out of bed to turn it off, I played it again imagining I was dancing with him, his strong arms around me as we waltzed around the room.

"I love this song, I'm dancing baby look at me, I'm dancing round your bed" just as it got to the part where he sang "Take me into your loving arms, kiss me under the light of a thousand stars, place your head on my beating heart" I turned around and froze on the spot, he was laying there awake, watching me, smiling.

My heart thumped hard, he pulled the mask of his mouth and spoke "Darling I'll still be loving you till were 70" I ran over hugging him so tight "Theo I love you" he soothed me as he held me close, this song was magic, not only did it make me the happiest wife, the happiest mum, but it help me bring back the one thing that made me happiest the most, theo Valentino my one true love. 

"It's ok Sasha, I'm here baby I'm ok" I sobbed and sobbed, I was so happy I ran out the door towards the nurses motioning them to follow, I rushed back in, a nurse and a doctor came in seconds later, "Hello Mr Valentino you gave us quite a scare, how are you feeling" he nodded.

"I'm ok, bit of a fuzzy head, my legs feel numb but with severe pins and needles, bit sore all over really, but I'm good" the doctor smiled enthusiastically.

"Yes we were wondering about the legs, you might have just gotten away with it all" I looked at the doctor bewildered.

"What, wait a minute you said he might never walk again," he nodded, "yes we did, but after ordering another scan it's come back clear, we think it might just have been the swelling of the brain interfering with the nerves" he turned back to Theo. "You are a very lucky man" there were tears in his eyes, "you don't have to tell me, I got lucky the day I met my wife, she's my guardian angel" he smiled.

The doctor laughed, "she's feisty I'll give you that she wouldn't leave your side.

We will get you some pain killers and something to drink" he smiled, when they left I went to his bedside, "I'm so happy your ok" he stroked my face, "so am I." Three days later,  Theo came home from hospital, he still has to go back for physio to strengthen his nerves but other than that he is back to his old self, he's still the perfect husband, the dotting father, and life couldn't be more perfect.

It really is true, miracles really can happen.
