The horrors only came when it came to Lucifer's 2289th birthday.475Please respect copyright.PENANAbaDIhNiwhu
Ophelia had been planning this day for a very long time, making it a surprise for her bonded Demon. But the ghostly pale Devil didn't take her secrecy very well; as he felt that the human was supposed to tell him every single thing that was to do with her. He was even more infuriated when he noticed that not only had Ophelia distanced herself from him, but she had also seemed to have inched closer and closer to Elijah more. The God knew about this, of course he did. He enjoyed setting up everything with his bond and seeing her jumping up and down as bursts of color flew here and there.475Please respect copyright.PENANAY9imgbheIh
Days went by as the deadline grew closer. Unfortunately, along with it, Lucifer's suspicions grew darker and darker. That morning, on the day which the party was to be held, Lucifer snapped at Ophelia privately when Elijah had gone out to buy the snacks and drinks. "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" he growled, his eyes shouting many, MANY more insults to the girl along with it. Ophelia glanced up at him, brows furrowed and eyes wide. She gasped, "What did I do..?" "OH YOU KNOW VERY WELL WHAT YOU DID." Shaking and desperately not trying to escalate the situation further, she backed away slowly.
Lucifer's anger did not falter. He felt his blood boiling and head pounding. He cocked his head to the side sharply with a sickening crack as he let out a huff of agitated breath. "You've been avoiding me.." He began, raising a finger before Ophelia spoke again, "..You think you do not need me even though I am your bond. You think that you can do anything you want and mess around with anyone you want just because dear little Elijah is here." Ophelia stood astounded, how dare he..? She waited a moment before looking at him straight in the eyes, hers darkening as if a hurricane had crashed through them.
”You’re mad, that you are. This was all for your birthday you jerk.” She stated matter-of-a-factly and turned on her heel, a furious feeling bubbling through her.

The night of the celebration was grand, chandeliers glowed a soft orange hue above the many dancing couples. The room was chill and huge, with a overlooking balcony towards the main entrance. Lucifer leaned against it, his tall, slender frame arching into a 90 degree angle. But Ophelia was no where to be seen. “Luce.” Elijah came to stand next to him during the party, leaving the guests to themselves, most of them being their friends. The latter made a sound of acknowledgement, “Where is our lovely bond? She helped set this whole thing up just for you and now she’s absent from it all.” He sighed sadly. Perching himself on the side right of Lucifer, back to the railing.
”I know what you did. She was crying Luce.” Elijah commented darkly, his golden eyes not leaving the shiny marble in front of them. “How could you..? She didnt tell you because she thought a surprise would be nice.” He looked up, finally letting orange bore into blood red, “You couldn’t even let her speak..talk to her when you’re ready to apologise.” He advised and headed back down to join the party once more.
Another heavy sigh racked through Lucifer’s frame, sending a confused shudder through it. Fine, he decided, he’d go now. She must be in one of their rooms. Or maybe in the study. Oh, never mind, he’d find her somehow...
...He just needed to leave now.
