Rides sat next to Klef and sighed. "I still don't like sunsets as much as sunrises," she grumbled.
Klef put a finger to his lips and waved a hand around them. Be quiet, just focus around you.
She rolled her eyes and sighed. Billy, her pergrine falcon, cawed above them, from where they were sitting on her mom's roof. A few owls would hoot occasionally, saying hello, as other birds were saying good night. A group of kids played in the center of the road, kicking a ball around until one of their mothers called for them to go inside, as dinner was ready. Other than that, her town was still in the twilight.
The clouds above them were a striking tangerine orange against the pale pink of the sky behind them. The sun was deep red, about the size of a large pebble, setting in the west.
Shingles underneath them scratched against their pants and the air was cool on her face, blowing from the north. And, despite herself, Rides smiled.
"What do you think, Ride?" Klef asked expectantly.741Please respect copyright.PENANAmg9mGPEgJT
She turned to him and smiled. "Aesthetic."
