Chapter Four -Violet-466Please respect copyright.PENANAueEUjjeYwo
Violet soared through the clouds her wings catching air currents as she flew, plus a whole band of other rainwings flickered through the clouds like multicoloured dolphins in a fluffy white sea. Violet flung her wings open and let the air catch in them propelling her up into the sky above the others. She surveyed the surroundings. There were 8 families of rainwings all following behind Prince Jambu, her father and Princess Rose, her mother. Not far behind were her siblings. Tequel was 2 and was bumping playfully into Bloom. Bloom was only 4 but acted like she was an adult around Tequel. Violet tilted forward and soared down to her parents. “How much longer” she called across to them, “Not too far according to your father." They had been flying for almost 3 days and she was getting impatient. Finally, she saw the dual peak mountain that was Jade Mountain Academy.
When Violet soared over to the academy she saw what dragons meant when they said it looked like a snake. The two peaks look like they had shot out of the earth trying to reach the clouds. There was, of course, the unfortunate scar on the side where just over a decade ago Darkstalker had risen out of his eternal prison. Violet knew all about that from Kinkajou, a dragon that used to attend Jade Mountain and helped to defeat Darkstalker.
Violet glided into the welcome cave and saw a purple Nightwing trying to carry some scrolls while a bubbly Nightwing dragonet ran under her feet. Violet giggled the dragonet was exactly like Tequel. As if on cue Tequel rushed into the cave and started playing with the dragonet. “Hi there” The dragon called “I’m Fatespeaker, that’s Firefly, my dragonet” “Oh nice to meet you I’m Violet” “Welcome to Jade Mountain, you and the Rainwings are the only students here other than Current, so you have plenty of time to explore” “Oh ok, who’s Current?” “Current is Tsunamis son, he lives here.” “Oh, cool” Violet was distracted, she wanted to get to her dorm and figure out her nervous-excited-terrified thoughts. “Here’s your map and you library stamp,” Fatespeaker said handing her a scroll and a small piece of wood, “A hunting party leaves in an hour, you don’t have to hunt but it’s a great opportunity to see the grounds!” Violet thanked Fatespeaker and headed to her cave for a well-needed nap.
When Violet woke up and unfurled out of the hammock she had picked for herself she immediately noticed that one of her clawmates had arrived. She was a rather pretty night wing snoring softly on the rock ledge. Violet tip-toed past the snoozing dragonet and made her way to the prey cave. When she arrived she saw a couple of dragons flying towards the forest all in pairs, all except for one.
