I had been running. Taken the hyper loop to get as close as possible and ran the last miles straight, no stops, not caring about all those people that crossed my way. Once again I praised my visits at the gym, the possibility to swiftly get through the traffic with just a few incidents and a lot of confused looks.

When I reached the right skyscraper, one of the most luxurious of the Dastor District, my hair was sticking onto my forehead and my breath hasty, like I spend the last few hours running multiple marathons. “Siesama, 309th apartment.”
I leaned against the wall, watching how the display changed its color “Listening” The house maid, a delta, name Tania. “Amstrong, it's important” the door opened without further explanations.
I ran up the elevator, hating the minutes I simply stand there, waiting. The way towards the door, greeted the tall, strong woman that had opened for me, was brought into the living room, forced to sit down.
“Mr. Amstrong, are you alright?” I thanked her for the water she had given to me, took a few minutes to answer. There was still a mess in my head and I couldn't find the self-control to build a whole sentence.
My mother had left the mansion, days before she was taken into custody and not been there since then. Her husband had left even earlier. Both had planned to stay away. They knew. Somehow they knew
“No...yes...it's...fuck, I'm fine. I just need to talk to the Siesamas” I had rationed down my hormone stabilizing meds. Actually, I rationed down everything, since I started running out of it, faster than I ever thought I would. It paid back. Right now, the moment the deep voice echoed from the walls like a growling lion and I had to take a few steps back in panic, it paid back.
“Damari's at the campus. I'm here” Arnaxis. In all his glory, the most likely 8'5 frame, broad shoulders and muscle-roped arms. I could see droplets of water run from his long, wet hair onto his back, down the well-sculpted features. Until they were soaked in the towel.
Arnaxis Siesama wasn't wearing more than a towel.
In less than a second, my face flushed to the deepest shade of pink and my cheeks became unbearable hot.
I cleared my throat, crossed my legs awkwardly like a teenage girl. He was a married man and my body seemingly didn't give a fuck “I didn't want to interrupt...well...” I sighed, grabbing a fistful of my hair “I wasn't aware that you weren't dressed when I stormed in to the apartment like that, my deepest apologies Mister Siesama”
He smiled. An amused, sly smile. If more of my blood was pumped into my cheeks I would pass out. “There's nothing you wouldn't have yourself, it's absolutely fine.” I was never in the possession of muscles, onyx-black eyes or enough facial hair to even dare cutting it so clean and structured. And if I dared looking another time I may have found a whole lot of other things I wouldn't have myself.
Especially such a kind of grace. Regardless of his frame, he managed to move smoothly, like a feline. Graceful, proud and confident. And so...neat. Even in a towel he was so well organized, such a contrast to beautiful mess Damari. And I had already been thinking for far to long.
“So, why the hurry?” I grabbed my bag, started to fiddle with the things inside the worn out leather case, not daring to look at the man once again.
“I finished early, so I went to my mothers house” he cleared his throat, sat down with his perfectly shaped eyebrows furrowed “A bad start already. The case is still part of the medias attention. Nobody, especially Idelle Amstrongs son of a gamma, should be seen there”
“There were no media” I felt insulted. I'd been alone, it was a lonely area and I wouldn't be dumb enough to overlook a follower, right? I wouldn't drop my ice cream, before running through the hyper loop and following the streets without looking for cameras, would I?
“It's quite a journey to get there, they used drones for the house. If you were in the house, you're already in trouble” I really hadn't thought about that. About anything, really. “For our all sake, I have to ask you to inform me the next time you take any steps, Mr. Amstrong” I felt supervised. Bit on my tongue. But, I had to admit that my stupidity justified his actions.
“It's Kyris. Not a good time to be an Amstrong"He just shrugged, sitting down next to me, his muscles flexing and relaxing again. God, he was a gorgeous man. Even when I would never doubt that breathtaking Damari must have been one of the best, I couldn't help but realize how many choices he must have had once he settled down. Guys and girls alike must have had their heart broken once he swore loyalty to the dazzling scientist
“Arnaxis, I gave up my last name to gift Damari just another golden thing.” I ruffled my hair, trying to rearrange the chaotic strands. Useless as ever. I looked like an alpaca, my thick, fluffy hair already fading to salt and pepper at the age of 21, my skin pale, my body barely muscular, unable to get more than the tiniest bit defined. What a hilarious comparison to this Adonis I must have been.
“Anyway, the reason you scared Tania half to death?” I nodded a little bit to fast, took another tissue to pull the teddy out. “It's his. It was, I mean. He used to sleep with it. You can still get DNA from it, don't you?” He hummed, taking the bear with uncovered hands “I can distinguish Apollox DNA from others as well, so no need for wasting tissues. Also, the bag is full of your genetic material anyway, so it doesn't matter.” In my mind, I slapped myself, feeling quite dumb once again.
“It's a giant help nonetheless. Thank you very much Kyris” I still hadn't dared to make eye contact with him again.
“Just...after you're finished....you have to understand, there aren't a lot of Apollox belongings left” he gave the bear back to me, letting me press my nose against the dusty fur without a comment.
After taking scent-blockers, my twin started to lose his smell of freshly fallen rain. Back then, I hadn't known what it was, how to describe this odor that was beginning to fade. Now I could. After it was lost forever.
“There's no doubt you will get it back.” I smiled honestly, relieved “Thank you.” I could feel his eyes on my face, an intense, never ending search for something I couldn't name.
“There's...” I sighed, biting my lips and forcing myself to at least sound calm and collected “There's something else”
Again, a hum, more thoughtful this time “Is there?” I pulled two nearly gray strands of hair behind my ears. Colorless or not, they were still too voluminous to give up falling into my face or making my head appear three sizes bigger. I needed to end this misery with the kitchen scissors as soon as I got back to my apartment.
“My mother. Her husband left the house for the last time at the 31st of the 9th month, my mother at the 8th of the 10th. They took luggage” Arnaxis gasped like a fish, just seconds before his lips turned to a thin line, while his forehead got wrinkled. “She knew. And she had another shelter, that's why they couldn't find Jilsin Thomas. You should have told me right away”
He jumped up, turned around, fast enough to make drops of water fly from his hair. Darting to another room I hadn't seen, he pulled my collar to make him follow him.
Another office, another computer system. And he quietly told me to sit down while starting it, letting CCTV cameras pop up, focusing on the street my mother lived in, the house the day she left it. For hours of the video, cut down to a few minutes, nothing happened besides the change of light.
After this, he blocked my view by stepping between me and the screen. For minutes he continued working, mumbling to himself, forgetting that he wasn't alone I guessed. My muscles tensed as soon as he put the screen aside, swiping a new one into his view.
I could see it now, clearly. The day, my mothers husband left. Shouting at her, with luggage underneath his arms. A lot of it. My mothers angelic face was deformed in faked pain, she was grabbing the door frame to remain steady. He had left her. And in the next moment, I watched her break down, sob, hands in front of her face while the foreign man walked away. There was the tiniest movement of her head, just for a moment. A minimalist turn towards the camera, towards me.
She had been smiling.
I knew.
I knew her. But this woman, these obviously faked moments, made her seem foreign to me. “A good actress, for sure...how disgusting” he hissed, muscles tensing, while his temper started to scare me. He clenched his fingers around the display of his desk, grinding his teeth. I felt like whimpering and throwing myself next to his feet. An omega would have done so. Every omega but me.
I was intimidated nonetheless, very much so. “Her Teslas serial number” I failed grasping the information and let it slip through my synapses, blinked heavily a few times. My mind wanted to obey this man while the drugs in my body, those of them who caused my testosterone level to raise, didn't want to let me do anything for him.
“The....tesla” One plucked eyebrow raised up high in amusement. “Your mothers car. A tesla solar 41/5, dark green, quite one for the show-offs”
“I have permission for this data, I can see all vehicles that are registered in the home servers” he smirked, making a step forward and his muscular leg stick out of the towel. “That Kyris, made me ask you” Saliva ran down my gullet like stones and rested in my stomach just the same. Not now. Not here. In less than a second, my arm was thrown onto the scanner, data loaded.
I just begged we wouldn't come across the music section and the remains of my early teens, high-pitched female pop stars with big fake lashes and skimpy costumes. I wasn't as thrilled to explain something like this to Arnaxis Siesama, who most likely enjoyed the postmodern, experimental type of piano and theremin.
“Here, here it is” Arnaxis nodded, pulling the document out of the screen. “Thank you for your help” I nodded, looking at his face, once again, how the long hair started curling around it. Once again, my mind couldn't understand how good-looking he was. Damari was lucky. And for sure Arnaxis was lucky as well.
I was barely aroused, never thought about my sexuality. But the fact that both of them managed to push me into such a state may have proved that I was gay after all. Not that it mattered.
“However. Mr. Amstrong, should your boldness risk our attempt to safe Appollox ever again, I don't care if you're an impressively bullheaded man or not, I'm gonna monitor you. And trust me, you don't want to be under my supervision. Several assignments before told me” he was dead-serious. Occupied with the CCTV and his black eyes focused on reading without leaving me out of his view.
“Not a lot of danger to worry about” I could still feel the work out in my bones and the protein on my tongue, however, useless efforts. I was just to terrified of the alternative. Defenseless, gruesome idea.
“It's your willpower that worries me” maybe I should have laughed. A joke. It must have been a joke. My whole life I hadn't done anything to reveal my mothers doings. Let my father suffer and my brother die like the coward I was. Had never been strong enough to act. But Arnaxis just wouldn't start laughing.
Actually, he sighed, running through the wet locks that slowly started to rebuild themselves.
