"Jason! Get your ass over here!! Now!"
Emily's scream reached me before I was able to arrive at the competitors' designated waiting room. Shoot. I must be in trouble.
I reluctantly turned my head to see Emily running towards me. "Yes?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Come with me to the art room. Paisley wants to talk to you." Emily started walking back and I followed.
"...um. Am I in trouble?"I asked, my heart pounding out of fear.
"Just come with me and you'll see."she replied, avoiding my question.
As soon as we arrived at the door, Paisley opened the door for us.
"Emily I told you already don't do stuff without my permission!!"
I looked at Emily, confused,"Didn't you say that Paisley wants to see me?"
"No! I mean, not no but not yes either!" Paisley exclaimed.
"Okay, why don't you guys both come inside and we'll figure this out." Emily tried to calm us.
"I feel like a 8 year old..." I muttered to myself. I went in last and closed the door. I stood in the corner by the door awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
Emily then asked me a question that surprised me," Jason do you like Paisley?"
"What!?" I felt my face growing hotter every second, my face must have looked like a tomato.
I was struggling to decide whether I should tell the truth when I saw Paisley staring at me intently. This was making me feel really uncomfortable...
Paisley's P.O.V.
I face palmed at Emily's bluntness when asking questions. Couldn't she be more considerate? When I looked up, Jason was still standing in the corner, blushing furiously. I blocked out Emily's words. That rosy pink on his cheeks, that's a great color to use on a portrait drawing! It's not too bright and not too dull either. I inspected his face even more as if it's an artifact and not an actual person. I grabbed my sketchbook from the desk and also my pencil crayon box. I commanded,"Don't move." and Jason stopped fidgeting.
"Oh wow so hard working... and nice timing too..." Emily joked.,
"Shut up!" I replied and started sketching his face. I used drew very lightly using brown to mark the eyes, nose, mouth and other features on his face. And then I started with the hair. I noticed that his hair is actually not the same color as mine. His hair was slightly darker. "Just five minute, and you can be dismissed." I said absentmindedly while quickly sketching out his face. After I was done with the hair, I started drawing his eye. It was actually quite hard to draw his grey eyes correctly because the eyes were composed of thousands of different color spectrum. It was quite fascinating. I had to walk closer to his face to look at his eyes more closely and observe the colors.
Then I realized what I was doing when that pair of eyes in front of me glanced sideways nervously. Oops...I might have been standing a little too close to him. I quickly jumped away. Emily was standing on the side, looking disappointed,"Jason, I thought you would have the courage to kiss her just then!"
Now it's my turn to blush. I had been too engrossed in my sketching to be aware of what I was doing.
"Go away Emily!" I yelled, embarrassed.
"Oh, so you are not going to shoo Jason out?" Emily teased.
"You too!" I shot Jason an angry glance.
"I am SO done with this audition. Tell the rest of the people to leave. I'll consider when the next audition is next time." I was really mad that I decided to cancel the rest of the audition, at least for that day.
