Ivana wasn’t sure what bothered her more, the fact that the planet beeped or that it was thousands of beeps. No matter how many times she did a scan of the planet, the beeps never went away. She tried putting it down to the first night in a fresh bed or even the fact that she did not get much sleep last night, but now, nothing seemed to justify why the planet beeped.

“Beeping woke me up. I thought the equipment might be faulty, so I checked.”

Genevieve pulled her glasses to her head and peered over the scanner. To her, this high-tech equipment meant nothing to her. Ivana could have easily shown the scans of a nearby planet as a joke and would have never noticed the difference.

Ivana squeaked at the sound of her little brother's voice. She didn’t want to worry Fawn with this nonsense, a glitch in her system. But she was too late, he was frowning at the screen, watching the beeps flash in and out on the monitor.

Ivana lacked the grace to create like a normal god, though that never stopped her creative brain from working non-stop. The god-complex as we know it. Not only were gods gifted the ability to give and take at life, they also were graced with the brain capacity the size of the sun. Of course, this is also followed with an ego the same size. Where Ivana lacked in creating life from pure light, she created tech from spare parts.

Ivana found the camera and switched it on, giving the room a clear view of what exactly Revis filled the planet with. Genevieve sighed when they came up on the monitor. Revis liked to call them Dinosaurs, flesh-eating monitors that devoured everything, including themselves, in sight. Fifty years ago, one of Revi’s creations managed to set itself free from its prison, taking and ripping the children’s father apart. This was long before Fawn was born but everyone still remembers.

Steam was almost visible from Fawn’s ears, as his face turned a light shade of red in anger. Screaming he bulldozers towards Revis, crash-tackling him to the ground. Fawn moved all of his weight into his hands, and proceeded to punch a laughing Revis.

Genevieve sighed as she froze the screen before her. She wanted so hard to believe that it was an accident. Revis was only roughly the same ago Fawn is now. She should have seen the darkness in his creations, but she was just happy to give birth to a creator. When Ivana was born, Revis was the happiest boy she had ever witnessed, so this clouded her sight.

Revis wasn’t happy that his mother had given birth to a non-creator and his darkness grew. He very much wanted to love his little sister, but the more they played the more he despised her for her disability. The older Ivana got, the more attention was on her and not him.

It was an accident that Revi’s father got mutilated, Revis had hoped Ivana would have found the dinosaur before it escaped. So when the family arrived home to a house full of blood, the blindness finally left Genevive and she finally saw what her boy was made of.

Fawn sucked in a huge breath as he watched his older brother vanish from the room. He never wanted this to happen. All he wanted to do was kick a fuss, but when he saw the look in his mother’s eyes as she zombie-walked out of the office, he quickly shut his mouth. Ivana sank to her knees behind him, pulling his body close to hers.
