Pilot #3: "Sir! It's shooting us!"
Pilot #1: "This is Petrograd 1, confirmed hostile, I repeat, confirmed hostile!"
Captain: "10-4, initiating battle stations." *Turns to mic* "Battlestation comrades, I repeat, Battlestations!"
The strike group on standby went in for the kill and no friendly personnel was lost or hurt. The incident was classified by the RN and USN, but media reported similar-looking vessels appearing around the pacific basin. The USN also had an encounter with a similar vessel down south near Pearl Harbor.
The Secure Contain Protect foundation caught wind of the incident, and these entities were classified as [REDACTED].
Recently, a new Russian supercarrier was launched, named the RN Shtorm. Protecting it was a wide arsenal of missiles and CIWS, following the tradition of heavily protected Russian carriers. It carried missile cells within its deck: flanking the rear angled runway was two missile arrays; one on each side. The starboard side held Gauntlet antiair missiles while the port held one cell array (Containing more Gauntlet missiles) and a larger missile array behind, containing Shipwreck anti-ship missiles.
NATO and other countries began forming an alliance against the entities, which were growing in hostility and numbers around the pacific basin. They have yet to know where they truly from, but for now, it was a matter of protecting the civilian populations.
The Russian and American navies agreed to form international air wings, the first being on the Shtorm. The fighters were primarily composed of F-18 and SU-33 fighters, recon included American-built E2 Hawkeyes and EA-18 Growlers. Lots of other aircraft were on board also.
Being nuclear powered, it can go anywhere and be there for the time its supplied allow it to. This will become a vital advantage later in the story.
