I miss her. I miss the way she would smile, the way she would always tilt her head towards me and just smile like the sun. Naidia. The ray-of-sun-that-would-always-laugh. The person who lit up my life. The girl whose heart I had stolen and had kept from taking it back.
She always laughed, even when there was no joke.
*Flashback*
A 15-year old Leon and a 13-year old Naidia sit by the fire, with Ben sitting with them. Leon is reading something and making occasional notes on it, while Ben is reading over Leons’ shoulder. Naidia is staring into the fire, when she bursts out into laughter.
“What’s so funny?” asks Leon.
“I don’t know.”
“Then why are you laughing?”
“I still don’t know.”

*Flashback end*
She was a ray of light, in some ways. Sometimes literally a ray of light, like the time she dressed up as a star and Ben flew her around in the air. Or when she put on all yellow clothes and yellow makeup and jumped from her bed.
She always made for interesting memories, that’s for sure. She made the most beautiful of memories. Like with the stars, when we snuck out to see the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. The lights were so pretty that night.
Or the day of the 9 Moons. That was always a fun day. The day that all Redwater celebrated. She always loved it. At night, we would both sneak out to go to the parties.
The sneaking out was always Naidias’ idea. She always had no problem lying, but I did. She was everything I wasn’t. She was a liar but I was perfectly honest. She was..abnormal, but I was normal. She has a brother, but I have a sister. She is a Guard Captain, but I’m a thief. She would never harm anything or anyone, but I have harmed people.
We are both very different.
Very different people tend to end up in very different places in Redwater
