There was only one person in the entire school who could possibly know where Gian Matthew is. Bella sigh doubting her decision asking for somebody's help. She's already regretting why her feet drag her outside the AVP Room. She still doesn't have any choice though, because there's only one person who can find out what she needs to know.
She knocks lightly and enters, "Excuse me?" her eyes adjusting to the dimly lit room looking for Melissa. Melissa is not only the President of School Affairs but she is also the Head of the school newspaper. What better use of her skills. No doubt she knows Gian Matthews whereabouts and with some luck get some juicy details in on there too.
Once her eyes adjust inside the room the first thing that she saw was thousands of papers piled up on the floor that reaches the ceiling, the room smelled strongly of ink on paper. There was a big long table in the middle of the room where two guys seated on either side of it. One busy staring intensely on his computer screen while adjusting his eyeglasses as he typed, while the other had a book covering his face, though she's unsure if he was reading or sleeping. Melissa walk in just as she was about to ask one of the guys seated at the table.
Melissa greeted her with a smile, "Oh great! You're here!" she said happily. "I was just about to look for you really," she added closing the door behind her.
"Looking for me?" Bella asked her eyebrows furrowed.
"Yeah," Melissa replied still smiling. "I needed to ask you something about Mr. Hottie Transfer" her eyebrows shooting up as if she knows who it is.
Bella's eyes widen in disbelief, Mr. Who-what-transfer?
"Me?" she said.
"Yes"
"Me?" Bella repeated.
"Yes, you" she pointed at Bella.
"Me?"
Melissa sighed trying to calm her irritation. "Yes, yes" Melissa grabbed her shoulders shaking her slightly, convinced that she was the best person to ask about him. "I know that you know him.." she added emphasizing the last word.
"I'm sorry, who are we talking about?" She asked her brows furrowed.
Melissa chuckled, "Who else silly?" She nudged her like she just said something hilarious. When Bella still looked confused waiting for Melissa to answer, Melissa let out a deep sigh rolling her eyes. "I'm talking about THE Nathaniel Vasquez.. Nate Vasquez. The super hot guy who just transferred?"
Bella started to panic her eyes drifted to the two guys sitting on the table checking if they were listening to their conversation. Does she know? Do they know? she thought to herself. Her stomach grumbled as if to agree with her thoughts.
"Ummm.." her hands fidget nervously on her skirt, curling into a fist trying to think what how to respond to that.
"Look, I know that you're neighbors," she said matter-of-factly, she showed her hands as if counting. "And I know for a fact that you went to the same first-grade school before.."
Bella gulped, her eyes widen as if waiting for the worst.
"..and I know that.." Melissa added, scratching her chin in thought. "I know that he plays soccer in his previous school"
"And?" Bella tensed, her voice cracked.
"And.. that's all" Melissa answered waiting for Bella to say something. "I haven't really gone through him yet just the basics. He's really quite shut off"
Melissa hadn't dig deeper into Nate and Bella's history. Apparently, she only knew general information. Things that were a fact and common. Bella felt relieved, her Senior year is still saved.
"So?" Melissa finally said.
"So, what?" Bella replied. Melissa put her hands on both of Bella's shoulder again as if trying to knock some sense into her this time. "SO, I need you to tell me everything you know about Nathaniel Vasquez"
"I know nothing of him" Bella answered her eyes drifting to the floor. She wasn't really a good liar. She just hoped that Melissa wouldn't notice. "He was just a neighbor. We really don't even talk that much"
Melissa dropped her hands on Bella's shoulder as if defeated. Her smile turned to a frown and let out a deep sigh.
"That's fine." She said looking towards the windows thinking from afar. "I guess I'll just have to go to R.A. tomorrow to investigate and ask someone else"
"WHAT?!?! INVESTIGATE?!?! WHY?!?! WHAT?!?! NOOO!" Bella shouted in shocked. Melissa blinked looking back at Bella startled by her reaction. Bella forced a smile and felt the two boys on the table looking at them as well. Sorry, she mouthed to them then turned her attention back to Melissa.
"What I meant to say was... No.." Bella said trying to calm herself. "You don't need to go there. To tell you the truth there are a lot of genuinely rude, ego-driven students there. I don't think you can investigate really.." she said trying to convince Melissa. "For all I know, they won't even give you the whole story."
She needed to find a way not to let Melissa go to R.A. and find out about her humiliating story there. The same story why she transferred to Pacific High in the first place. "I can help you.." Bella said nodding trying to convince herself more than Melissa. "I can talk to him.." Melissa looked doubtful. Bella needed to take it up a notch.
"You know.." Bella grabbed Melissa's hands and squeezed, "I can like.. like ask him what you needed to know. Like, write down all the questions you have, put it on a paper, and I'll hand it to him. We were friends once you know."
Yeah, that way I can filter out the certain things that don't need to be exposed Bella thought to herself.
Melissa's eyes lit up, a smile forming on her face. "Really? That will be awesome, Thanks!" She said happily. "I mean.. he really didn't want any interview with us before.. but I guess since you know each other..being neighbors and all, he'll let you." She said enthusiastically while searching something on one of the table drawers.
"Here," she was holding out a thick blue folder nudging Bella to take it. "We already have a series of questions for him. You just need to record and then give it back to me once you're done."
"Great" Bella said trying to make her sound confident and took the folder like its radioactive.
"Great!" Melissa repeated smiling."Oh! And I'll need that by Friday so we can do proofread and print it for the next week's paper.. which reminds me" She added already moving towards the door.
"Great" Bella smiled trying to force out the words.
"I need to run back to Print so we can squeeze in that." She said pointing out the folder. "Thanks again!"
She couldn't believe what had happened. One moment she was trying to convince herself that she needed Melissa to tell her some dirty secrets about Gian Matthews then next thing she knew she was trying to convince her that she can get an interview with Nate Vasquez's personal life. What a disastrous life.
Her day couldn't get any worse than this. She sighed defeated lying on her bed. She needed to re-group on how she can plan out to talk to Nate about the interview then find her guidebook.
She winced remembering it was in the hands of the devil. She took a mental note that she'll need to get her guidebook first thing tomorrow. It was the only way to revert back this curse.

"Is this section 412?" She asked a girl leaning outside the door. Leslie found out that Gian Matthew was from section 412. The last dumb section as she called it. There are 11 Senior sections in Pacific High, the last one--412--is more like the bottom of the food chain, the combination of troublemakers, last enrollees, and students who repeated the school year. Bella and Leslie were in section 405. Neutral.
It was hard to find section 412 given that they pretty much get thrown off the farthest rooms and to a point where they get secluded room assignments.
"Yes," the girl replied chewing her gum while eyeing her from head to toe. "Who wants to know?"
"Is Gian Matthew there?" Bella pointed her chin towards the room.
"Do I look like his keeper?" Bubble gum girl sneered and walked away.
Rude.
Bella tiptoed and scanned the room. The room was messy nothing like a classroom, the student's lounge around their seats, some girls gossiping loudly, and on the far side of the room a group of boys passed around a basketball, others have the audacity to put their feet up on their table, a good lot of students sleeping, while a teacher discussed something in front of the board clearly not bothered by how his students are not paying attention.
Gian Matthew was nowhere to be found. She let out a sigh thinking where on earth could he be.
"Try the roof" someone with a low and deep voice answered as if he heard her. Startled, she turned around to find a giant looking down at her, his eyes glints with rage, his brows furrowed as if she finds her disgusting.
"He's usually there dozing off" he added, the curve of his mouth twitching trying to force out a smile.
Yikes.
"Uh.. thanks" Bella replied forcing a smile in return and sidestep away from the door to let the giant pass.
For a guy who looked like he just ripped out the entire town of Shiganshina. So far, he was the only human who she got in contact in section 412.
Bella walked towards the stairs going up on the roof deck. Finally, her cursed is about to get lifted. As soon as she laid hands on her guidebook every will turn back to the way it was. She pushed the door into the roof deck and found a girl standing in front of a guy in the middle of the deck. "I'm just not interested" the guy answered coldly. "And you're not exactly my type. Have you look at yourself in front of a mirror?"
The girl runs out of the deck towards the door and bumped into Bella with tears running down her face. She sobs heavily trying to wipe her tears as she shoved past Bella.
What a jerk? Bella stomped her way to the guy who was so full of himself, rejecting a girl the hard way. It kind of reminded her of all the boys she confessed before--there were a lot of them no doubt--but there wasn't any boy who has the audacity, the decency, the humanity to say that to her face.
To her surprise, her furious doubled when she caught a glance of who it was. The guy started to lay on one of the benches with his arm covering his face to block the sun as if nothing happened. He really is something she thought angrily.
"How could you say that to her?" She said furiously as she balls her hand into a fist looking down at Gian Matthews. His eyes kept closed, he didn't move or flinch. He just... lay there.
"Did you hear me?" Bella added through gritted teeth. Her knuckles almost turned white from keeping herself punching his calm face.
"I don't talk to strangers" He finally answered, his voice sounded bored.
You self-centered-egomaniac-son-of-a-she took a deep breath and slowly count from five to one trying to calm herself down. If it was one thing he learned from experience with boys.. and one of the most important lessons on her guidebook is that-

When she was sure that she wasn't going to blow up. Bella forced a smile leaned down next to him and asked sweetly, "Can I talk to you for a sec?"
"Aren't you already talking?" He snorted still not looking up.
"I meant talk-talk.. you know like a normal person face to face" Bella snapped.
"If I said yes will you leave?" He snapped back.
"Yes,"
"Then, Yes" He answered looking directly at her.
It hit her like lightning, too fast to even process but her mind went still for a moment while looking into his deep brown almond eyes. It was strange, it was like looking into a kaleidoscope. It had freckles of gold, with hints of green. That swirls making you look deeper into his eyes.
How on earth can a jerk be blessed by gorgeous eyes she thought to ogle at the sight.
"Now can you leave?" He said irritated.
Bella shook her head trying to get back to the matter at hand. "No" she replied. "I want to talk to you about the thing.." she added.
Gian Matthew's eyes her curiously. "What thing?"
"The thing.." she rolled her eyes at him. "The book dimwit"
"Oh... that thing" he grins wickedly. "What about it?"
"Do you have it?" She asked trying to sound nonchalant.
His eyes twinkled at the question, "What if I did?" He challenged.
I freaking knew it! Her face hot with anger, she was so sure steam's blowing up her ears but she manages to answer calmly, "I need it back"
"As far as I remember.." he started sitting up on the bench. "You mentioned that you don't know anything about that book?" He chuckled.
Smartass. "Actually, it's from a friend" Bella smiled sweetly trying her hardest to avert her eyes off him.
"Right..." as if smelling her lie, he took his bag and started to stand up about to walk away.
"I made it!" She added promptly, fearing he'll bolt out of the door, "for a friend. She really needs it back"
"A friend?" His brows knitted.
"Yes, a friend" her eyes shift down to the floor.
"Then this friend of yours, what's the name?"
"Name?"
"Yes, a name"
Uhh..
"Leslie" she replied her eyes dropping on the floor again.
"You should really add how to lie on that guidebook of yours" he snapped. "Cause you're terrible at it"
"What?!" Bella felt offended. Even though she was lying, she wasn't going to let him know that.
"You know what?" She said with her palms up as if surrendering. "Keep it. Since you have a way of always running that smart mouth of yours. I think you need it more than she does."
Bella started to walk towards the door grabbed the knob and turn it slowly, when he chuckled and said, "Oh, I'm going to make sure that I use it. Use it to my heart's content" he smug.
She froze as goosebumps form on her arms. Her hand moves away from the doorknob, she took a deep breath and slowly turn to face him. "What do you want?" She said in annoyance.
Triumph hits his freckled brown-golden eyes in a flash then a slow wicked grin plays across his lips. "You" he answered.
"Excuse me?" She could've swallowed her tongue then and there with his response. She stared at him. Her heart beats as fast as her mind went blank like she was having a mini heart attack.
For one thing, there was no doubt he was gorgeous, his eyes twinkled waiting for her reply. She desperately looked for something in his face, sincerity? Honesty? But all she could find in that chiseled half shadowy face was like an Edward Cullen greek god under the sun, glistening. As soon as her hopes are gone up, she crashed down almost immediately as Gian Matthew bursts into a laugh amused by her stunned reaction.
Bella can barely contain her temper. If looks can kill, there wouldn't be any sight of Gian Matthew left to recognize his own body. She walked towards him, looked at him square in the eye, and said, "Hilarious," she rolled her eyes at the word. "Are you done?"
When he finished laughing, he nodded and said, "You should laugh more Rosey, turn down that seriousness, you look like a robot"
"I'm being serious because I'm being an adult," she sneered. "And second, it's Bella, not Rosey."
"As I said, too serious," he said again.
She ignored his comment and asked, "So what do you want? Money?" It was a rhetorical question. "Hate to break it to you, but I'm penniless."
He chuckled at the thought, "I meant it when I said I want you" he added in all seriousness.
Bella restrained herself from falling the second time although the butterflies in her stomach say otherwise. She coughs trying to push it aside "By want.." she finally replied. "You mean what exactly?"
"I need you.." he said looking straight into her eyes. "To be my girlfriend, Rosey."
