Prologue
"Read me a nighttime story, Daddy!", said young William as he jumped into bed.
His father sat down with him at the head of his bed and pulled out a book from behind his back, "This one is called, A Little Soul Power."
William settled himself under the covers and his dad began the story.
"Once upon a time, a big strong man was the protector of a town in the west.
"He protected the great town day after day, year after year. Until one day, the man started becoming old. He began to get slower and slower.
"But the village doctor had an idea. The doctor told the man that if he kidnapped the children of the city and sacrificed them, he can use small pieces of their souls to slow his aging and give him healing powers."
William's eyes widened at the thought. "Keep reading Daddy, keep reading!"
His father continued, "On the next day, the strong man made a dessert trail into his house, and one kid followed the trail inside.
"The kid followed the trail all the way into his living room, when the man took him by the neck and held him above the ground as the child slowly stopped struggling and relaxed.
"The man brought the child to the village doctor and the doctor said, 'Take a piece of pure metal and place it inside of the child. Do this, and the metal will be infused with a piece of their soul.
"The man placed the pure metal inside of the child and the doctor chanted a spell. The metal turned a light shade of blue as the man removed it from the child's body.
"The doctor exclaimed, 'Now you must melt it down and remove the remnant before it's too late!' The man quickly rushed to the furnace and melted the metal. 'As you can see, the soul remnants are condensing on the top of the furnace. Collect and drink this liquid so that you can have your strength back', said the village doctor.
"The man collected the liquid at the top of the furnace and drank the liquid. He began to feel his strength coming back, so he thanked the doctor and went on his way."
William's father closed the book and got up off the bed.
"Where are you going with the book?", William complained.
"It's a long story Willy", his father told him, "We'll read some more tomorrow night okay?"
"Okay Daddy! Good night!"
"Good night to you too", his father hugged him tightly and strolled out of the room.
As William's father left the room, he placed the book in the shelf and sat down for his evening tea. His son was aspiring to be a great man just like him. There are only so many successful business men in the world and young William would take charge as one of the greatest.
William's father sat back in his chair and dozed off, dreaming about his son's future.
