// Mark's P.O.V //
Listening to the story hurt me more than it hurt him
I listened closely, remaining silent so he could talk. I processed each word, growing angrier with every detailed beating he took.
"I was kicked out of my house after confessing…"
"What was the confession?"
It went silent, Ryan hadn't come out. I don't think he wanted to. I waited for Sean to answer.
"That I'm gay… and ma didn't like, papa was a rolling stone. Ma developed a habit. Papa hit me, and punched me for what seemed like hours. Kicked out of the home, called you after getting a plane ticket to L.A."
When did he get the money for a plane ticket? Where did he get the courage?
"I was on the plane when I called. I didn't want to tell you because I was afraid.."
There was nothing to be afraid of.
"I was scared you'd hate me…because I had fallen in love with my best friend…"
"Jack…"
I hugged him. I wasn't letting go. I felt his arms wrap around my neck, with my arms wrapped tightly around his small waist. It wasn't enough to hurt him. Of course, I didn't want to.
We remained in that position for several minutes. I pulled away and kissed his temple lightly. Taking ahold of his hand, I kissed the back of it. I saw his cheeks blush with a light pink colour. I smiled.
"Do you love me Mark?"
"Jack, I think you're perfect. And don't you ever think I'll stop loving you."
Ryan stepped out of the bathroom and smiled at us.
"Yep, two little love birds."
Sean jumped and squeaked, flushed with embarrassment. He had been startled. I laughed and calmed him down, kissing his forehead.
Matt, I hate him
"What a time wasting experience. Mark deserves someone better than you, Sean."
I knew exactly who it was.
Matt.
I got up and let go of Sean, who looked hurt, more than he already was. I rolled up the sleeves of my lucky flannel. I stomped over towards him, about to hurt him. Badly. Matt smirked, Ryan held me back.
I struggled in Ryan's grip to punch him, the bandages on my wrists were loosening. Matt crossed his arms, smirking smugly as he leaned against the door.
"Mark! No, stop! Don't do this, you don't wanna lose Sean do you?!"
I stopped, sighed, and realized he was right. I glared up at Matt.
A death glare
"Mhm, that's what I thought."
I growled and crossed my arms.
"Get off of my property."
He knew I wasn't kidding, he shrugged and walked off. Sean was on the verge of tears. He was whispering nonsense to himself. I rushed to his side. I froze when I heard the words.
"Louder, Louder. The voices in my head. Whispers taunting, all the things you said. Faster the days go by and I'm still.. Stuck in this moment of wanting you here.."
"Sean, I..-"
"Where are you? I need you. Don't leave me here on my own. Speak to me, be near me. I can't survive unless I know you're with me…"
I tried shaking him out of his trance, but it was only getting worse. His tone was growing louder.
"Shadows linger only to my eye. I see you, I feel you, don't leave my side. It's not fair, just when I found my world. They took you, they they broke you, they tore out your heart."
"Jack, it's me Mark! I swear I'm right here. Jack, please!"
His breathing was quickening.
"SEAN!"
It broke his trance, I just hope it didn't break his mind
He shook and trembled and looked at me with wide eyes. His breath quivered past his lips. I held him tightly. Ryan excused himself and let us alone. Now in the cool, empty house, Sean broke. He cried into my shoulder.
We sat like that for hours, explanations were now open. He told me it was the voices coming back, I understood completely. It was now almost five in the evening. I smiled when I heard Sean's stomach roar and gurgle loudly.
"Hungry?"
