An eloquence not felt

Except for when my

Shallow self is knelt

Before the world

To answer for my crimes

That dissolve all good

Taken from the earth

To a waiting void

Where death’s soft sign makes berth

And stillness is destroyed

Bringing about

The change this man needs

It heralds my return

To the forgotten dream

I sing of my longing

How it pulls on me

When it’s surfacing

I know nothing else

I am the taken king

Ruler to abyssal palettes

With which to paint a brighter world

In vain – as though these dreary colours

Could become truly beautiful

Taken from the earth

Taken to the void

King upon a throne

None should dare be seated
