If I further the words I use

With beauty that’s employed, abused

Could my sight in her eyes improve?

If I were to use sweetened words

To bring these lips of mine to hers

Then could the truth remain unheard?

If my lyrics take her to bed

To twist the sheets ‘til lust is fed

When should my used mistruths be said?

For if it is unknown I lied

Might we be paired ‘til one has died?

I want her not to be my bride

But if the lie reaches her ears

Her wails and cries might haunt for years

My mind and heart both drowned in tears

So do I choose words or silence?

Future’s thoughts have offered guidance:

Use not words to act a tyrant
