Rory's eyes languidly opened and she found herself laying on her bed in her room. Her eyes were filled with an uncontrollable amount of tears and she couldn't stop crying. She wanted to go back, she wished but what could she do? Her heart ached in incredulous sorrow and she held her hand to her chest as she cried hoping the pain would disappear. She could not accept the fact that she lost her love, her happiness.
Noticing the day on the calendar she got off the bed. It was the next day! She was sure she spent almost a month in the story, how is it the next day?
Just then she spotted the novel on the floor. On it was written 'The Dark Prince'. Wiping her tears she picked up the book and examined it. For some obscure reason, the book did not have an author's name. Just the title and the story itself.
She immediately remembered where she got this book. From the bookstore across the street. Getting ready she immediately rushed to the bookstore.
"Ah, Rory, welcome back!" The man who sat at the counter said.
"Can someone travel into a book or was it a dream...?" Rory asked almost to herself but the man heard her very clearly.
He smiled and said, "Sometimes, what something may appear to be might not be exactly what it is." He tilted his head in the direction of the door.
Rory turned and she saw a familiar figure walking down the street. Unlike how she remembered him this time he was dressed in a suit and he had no scars. He seemed to be serious but he looked sad.
She quickly ran out to meet him but he was all gone.
Could all this have been a mere coincidence?
